Age‐related differences in cardiogenic shock secondary to Takotsubo syndrome

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 56, Issue 1, January 2026.
In this multicenter study of 408 patients with cardiogenic shock secondary to Takotsubo syndrome (CS‐TTS), age emerged as a major determinant of clinical profile and prognosis, along with SCAI shock stage. Younger patients presented with more atypical features and received more intensive support but had better short‐ and long‐term outcomes.

Long‐term prognosis of pure and impure tachycardiomyopathy

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 6, Page 4288-4298, December 2025.
Abstract Background and aims Tachycardia‐induced cardiomyopathy (TCM) is a reversible form of heart failure (HF) driven by arrhythmias, often atrial fibrillation (AF). While reversible, TCM's long‐term prognosis remains unclear, especially in comparison to HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).

Racial differences in takotsubo cardiomyopathy outcomes in a large nationwide sample

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, 2020
Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TC) is characterized by transient ventricular impairment, often preceded by emotional or physical stress. Racial differences affect the outcomes of several cardiovascular conditions; however, the effect of race on TC remains ...

Coronary Flow Reserve Measured by Myocardial Perfusion Imaging in Patients Following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 106, Issue 5, Page 2816-2824, November 1, 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Despite achieving complete revascularization, patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) may experience adverse outcomes, potentially attributable to coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD). Coronary flow reserve (CFR), which integrates both epicardial and microvascular coronary function, and a reduced CFR following complete ...
