Optical properties of in situ eye lenses measured with X-ray Talbot interferometry: a novel measure of growth processes. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
The lens, a major optical component of the eye, has a gradient refractive index, which is required to provide sufficient refractive power and image quality.

Development of x-ray phase tomographic microscope based on Talbot interferometer at BL37XU, SPring-8

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
An x-ray phase tomographic microscope has been developed by optimizing the optical system for 9-keV synchrotron x rays at BL37XU, SPring-8, Japan. The system consists of a full-field x-ray imaging microscope and a Talbot interferometer.

Comparison of Thermal Neutron and Hard X-ray Dark-Field Tomography

open access: yesJournal of Imaging, 2020
High visibility (0.56) neutron-based multi-modal imaging with a Talbot–Lau interferometer at a wavelength of 1.6 Å is reported. A tomography scan of a strongly absorbing quartz geode sample was performed with both the neutron and an X-ray grating ...

A momentum filter for atomic gas

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2013
We propose and demonstrate a momentum filter for atomic gas-based on a designed Talbot–Lau interferometer. It consists of two identical optical standing-wave pulses separated by a delay equal to odd multiples of the half Talbot time.

Fabrication of X-ray absorption gratings by centrifugal deposition of bimodal tungsten particles in high aspect ratio silicon templates

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Grating-based X-ray imaging employs high aspect ratio absorption gratings to generate contrast induced by attenuating, phase-shifting, and small-angle scattering properties of the imaged object.

A Kapitza–Dirac–Talbot–Lau interferometer for highly polarizable molecules [PDF]

open access: yesNature Physics, 2007
Research on matter waves is a thriving field of quantum physics and has recently stimulated many investigations with electrons, neutrons, atoms, Bose-condensed ensembles, cold clusters and hot molecules. Coherence experiments with complex objects are of interest for exploring the transition to classical physics, for measuring molecular properties and ...

Improved Reconstruction Technique for Moiré Imaging Using an X-Ray Phase-Contrast Talbot–Lau Interferometer

open access: yesJournal of Imaging, 2018
X-ray phase-contrast imaging is a promising method for medical imaging and non-destructive testing. Information about the attenuation, small-angle scattering and phase-shifting properties of an object can be gained simultaneously in three image ...

Phase-Contrast and Dark-Field Imaging

open access: yesJournal of Imaging, 2018
Very early, in 1896, Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, the founding father of X-rays, attempted to measure diffraction and refraction by this new kind of radiation, in vain. Only 70 years later, these effects were measured by Ulrich Bonse and Michael Hart who

SPECTRAL CHARACTERISTICS STUDY OF PHASE-SHIFTED FIBER BRAGG GRATINGS UNDER PRESSURE APPLIED PERPENDICULAR TO FIBER AXIS [PDF]

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики, 2018
Subject of Research. The paper presents the study of effect that occurs when pressure is applied to the phase-shifted fiber Bragg gratings perpendicular to the fiber axis. Method. Fiber Bragg gratings inscription was performed using Talbot interferometer,
