Coherence evaluation and first demonstration of multi-contrast X-ray computed tomography on NanoTerasu BL09W with an X-ray Talbot interferometer

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation
We report on the coherence evaluation of the beamline BL09W at NanoTerasu (Tohoku University, Japan) and demonstrate X-ray multi-contrast imaging using an X-ray Talbot interferometer.

From classical xenon fringes to hydrogen interferometry

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2020
A setup with three equally spaced transmission gratings can be described as a moiré deflectometer in the classical regime and as a Talbot–Lau interferometer in the quantum regime.

Two-grating Talbot bands spectral-domain interferometer [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2015
A configuration for Talbot bands is presented in which two tilted gratings replace the splitter normally used for recombining the signals from the two interferometer arms. The two optical beams from the interferometer are launched by two fiber leads tightly brought together in the front focal plane of a collimating lens.

Matter-wave interference of a native polypeptide

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
Matter-wave interferometry of complex molecules is challenging due to difficulties in preparing and detecting molecular beams. Here the authors demonstrate quantum behavior of a polypeptide using matter-wave interference in an all-optical time-domain ...

Holographic Interferometer for the Study of Phase Media, Which Has Four Output Channels of Different Sensitivity

open access: yesInternational Journal of Optics, 2019
Computer simulation of the interferometer combining properties of low-sensitive Talbot interferometer and high-sensitive holographic interferometer is considered. The interferometer has four output channels having different sensitivity.

Modeling Vibrations of a Tiled Talbot-Lau Interferometer on a Clinical CT

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, 2023
X-ray computed tomography (CT) is an invaluable imaging technique for non-invasive medical diagnosis. However, for soft tissue in the human body the difference in attenuation is inherently small. Grating-based X-ray phase-contrast is a relatively novel imaging method which detects additional interaction mechanisms between photons and matter, namely ...

Optical properties of in situ eye lenses measured with X-ray Talbot interferometry: a novel measure of growth processes. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
The lens, a major optical component of the eye, has a gradient refractive index, which is required to provide sufficient refractive power and image quality.
