Talbot interferometer with simultaneous dark and bright fields
Applied Optics, 1989We describe an optical setup for implementing a Talbot interferometer that uses two mutually incoherent sets of self-images to simultaneously produce interference bands due to dark and bright fields. A spatial filter can be used to visualize these fields without interference fringes. Experimental results are included.

Lateral aberration measurements with a digital Talbot interferometer
Applied Optics, 1984A new technique for computer-based Talbot interferometry is presented. Fast and automatic aberration measurement has been achieved with improved accuracy and sensitivity. Experimental results are given that agree with the results of calculation by ray tracing.

Temporal impulse response of the Talbot interferometer
Optics Communications, 2007The Talbot interferometer has been shown earlier to act as an optical tapped delay-line in the time domain. The interferometer is based on the self-imaging effect. It consists of two gratings separated by a multiple of the self-imaging distance. Here, we determine its temporal behaviour experimentally.

Talbot Interferometer for Radial and Lateral Derivatives
Applied Optics, 1972The theory and experimental evidence of a shearing interferometer based on the Talbot effect are presented. Multiple-shearing interferences are obtained that can be reduced to triple-shearing or doubleshearing interferences by the addition of simple spatial filtering.

Talbot interferometer with computer generated gratings
Optics Communications, 1983Abstract In a Talbot interferometer the self image of a periodic pattern, such as a Ronchi ruling of period d, illuminated by a monochromatic plane wavefront of wavelength λ, is formed at distances which are integral multiples of 2d2/λ. A refracting object placed in front of the Ronchi ruling distorts the self image.
