Implementing the Leader Development That Counts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Effective leader development is too often the first casualty of high demands placed on leaders, from corporate America to the U.S. military. A comparison of these entities’ common leader development programs and workforce feedback reveals insufficient ...

Magnetic Control of Chiral Hybridized Phonon Magnetic Moments in Ferrimagnets Fe2‐xZnxMo3O8

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Helicity‐resolved magneto‐Raman spectroscopy reveals magnetic control of chiral phonon magnetic moments in polar ferrimagnet (ZnxFe2−xMo3O₈). Large spontaneous zero‐field phonon splittings, selective phonon–magnon coupling, and asymmetric Zeeman responses demonstrate that phonon chirality is governed by magnon‐phonon coupling and magnetization.

DNA‐Templated 2D Heterostructures as Phototriggered Dynamic Nanohybrids: From Releasing Molecular Loads to Controlling Enzyme Biocatalytic Function

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

Revenue Sharing and Competitive Balance in a Dynamic Contest Model [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper presents a dynamic model of talent investments in a team sports league with an infinite time horizon. We show that the clubs' investment decisions and the effects of revenue sharing on competitive balance depend on the following three factors:

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: Metal Integration Principles, Strategies and Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with metals have been recognized as versatile platforms for photocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2PRR). Herein, an overview of metal integration strategies for COFs is systematically summarized. Regulatory mechanisms and structure–activity relationships between metal integration and COF‐based CO2PRR are emphasized.

The parable of the talents

open access: yes, 2018
On its surface, Jesus’ Parable of the Talents is a simple story with four key plot elements: (1) A master is leaving on a long trip and entrusts substantial assets to three servants to manage during his absence. (2) Two of the servants invested the assets profitably, earning substantial returns, but a third servant — frightened of his master’s ...

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.
