Osteochondroma of the talus

open access: yes, 2010
Osteochondroma is the most common benign bone tumor, and occurs most frequently in the proximal humerus, tibia, and distal femur. It rarely affects talus. Therefore, we report a patient with osteochondroma of the talus. Excision is a successful method of

A Methodology to Integrate Closed‐Cycle Heat Pumps into Batch Distillation Columns

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
Batch distillation often cannot use vapor recompression due to contamination risks in food and pharma. This study proposes a design for integrating closed‐loop heat pumps using natural fluids. Results show significant energy savings, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional setups.

Comparative Properties of Two Self‐Report Measures of Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder: Psychometric and Clinical Utility

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We compared two measures of Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)—the NIAS and the PARDI‐AR‐Q to determine which demonstrates better psychometric and clinical utility. Methods The study was pre‐registered (OSF; DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/N8WBF). Participants (aged ≥ 18 years, BMI > 18.5) were recruited via Prolific and screened

An Uncommon Case of Bilateral Ankle and Foot Injury in a Pediatric Patient Leading to Bilateral Talus Fracture

open access: yes
Introduction: Pediatric talus fractures are rare and often challenging to diagnose, especially in skeletally immature patients. These injuries typically result from axial loading of the talus against the anterior tibia during dorsiflexion.

Pre‐industrial land‐use limits contemporary shrub encroachment in the French Alps

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Shrub encroachment has become a global phenomenon in recent decades. While global warming in the Arctic is often cited as the primary cause, human‐managed mountain regions have experienced intense historical land‐use that may also play a considerable role.

Glymphatic dysfunction couples with cortical excitation–inhibition imbalance in epilepsy: Evidence from Rasmussen encephalitis

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Cong Fu et al. demonstrate that glymphatic system dysfunction is linked to enhanced inhibitory cortical activity using diffusion MRI and EEG. These findings highlight a mechanistic link between perivascular fluid dynamics and neuronal activity, suggesting a role for glymphatic function in maintaining cortical stability in epilepsy.
