Advancing Energy Materials by In Situ Atomic Scale Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
Progress in in situ atomic scale methods leads to an improved understanding of new and advanced energy materials, where a local understanding of complex, inhomogeneous systems or interfaces down to the atomic scale and quantum level is required. Topics from photovoltaics, dissipation losses, phase transitions, and chemical energy conversion are ...

Radiological Risks of Neutron Interrogation of Food [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In recent years there has been growing interest in the use of neutron scanning techniques for security. Neutron techniques with a range of energy spectra including thermal, white and fast neutrons have been shown to work in different scenarios.

A Large Scale Multi‐Modal Workflow for Battery Characterization: From Concept to Implementation

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Isolated characterization techniques produce independent datasets and single‐property insights. However, progressively more holistic interpretations of battery‐material behavior is needed in the future. Here we demonstrate a coordinated multimodal workflow enabling the correlation of heterogeneous datasets and the construction of multidimensional ...

Сравнительный анализ расчетов характеристик фотоядерных реакций с вылетом заряженных частиц с использованием кодов EMPIRE II и TALYS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Contribution of various photonuclear reaction channels for deriving Giant Dipole Resonance (GDR) parameters is considered. It is shown that output channels with emission of charged particles are very important for some nuclei.

Keeping Pace or Falling Behind? The Depth of Latin American Trade Agreements

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article examines whether Latin American countries are keeping pace with global trends in trade agreement depth or falling behind. Using 681 agreements (1970–2019), we develop the Depth Index of Trade Agreements (DITA) to weight provisions endogenously through factor analysis based on co‐occurrence patterns.

Injury to the sustentaculum tali

open access: yesThe Foot, 1996
Abstract Fracture of the sustentaculum tali is a rare injury. Although treatment of acute injuries is well documented, subsequent treatment of delayed or non-union has not been previously described. We present the case reports of three patients who sustained injuries to the sustentacum tali associated with delayed union.

Rural Labor Supply and Economic Opportunities: Commuting, Migration, Tariffs, and Immigration

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Some rural counties remain dependent on agricultural or manufacturing jobs, but an increasing proportion have diversified economics. Rural counties also differ in their abilities to commute to an urban market characterized by higher wages and labor productivity.

Calculations of Excitation Functions to Produce 88Y via Various Nuclear Reactions by ALICE/91 and TALYS-1.0 Codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Excitation functions were calculated by the ALICE/91 and TALYS-1.0 codes for natRb(a,xn)88Y, natZr(p,pxn)88Y, natSr(a,xn)88Y, 89Y(p,n)88Y and 88Sr(p,n)88Y reactions. The calculated cross sections were compared with the experimental data.
