GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Tamper tape seals [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Tamper tapes are appealing for many applications due to their ease of use and relative robustness. Applications include seals for temporary area denial, protection of sensitive equipment, chain-of-custody audit trails, and inventory control practices.

The Host Cell Factor Phosphatase‐2A Subunit PR130 Restricts Replication of Herpes Simplex Virus Type‐1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Molecular, genetic, virological, and biochemical analysis in combination with global proteome and phosphoproteome profiling and functional assays were applied to study the role of PR130 in the context of HSV‐1 replication. The observations reveal that host‐intrinsic mechanisms regulate HSV‐1 replication and highlight PR130 as a susceptibility factor of

Tamper detection, localization and self-recovery using slant transform with DNA encoding for medical images

open access: yesResults in Engineering
This work proposes an improved self-embedding semi-fragile watermarking scheme for a smart healthcare system using telemedicine. The watermark is produced by encoding the Slant Transform (ST) coefficients of each block of the host image.

New Insights to Key Derivation for Tamper-Evident Physical Unclonable Functions

open access: yesTransactions on Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems, 2019
Several publications presented tamper-evident Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs) for secure storage of cryptographic keys and tamper-detection. Unfortunately, previously published PUF-based key derivation schemes do not sufficiently take into account ...

Noninvasive Focal Gene Delivery into the Cerebellum of Non‐Human Primates using Focused Ultrasound

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Focal and non‐invasive viral vector delivery in non‐human primates remains a major challenge in translational neuroscience. Low‐intensity focused ultrasound was used to transiently open the blood–brain barrier and enable targeted gene delivery to the cerebellum.

On Tampering with Nature [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1994
It is springtime in Bohemia. Perdita, showing off her garden to Polixenes, the King in disguise, makes it absolutely clear the loathing she feels for streaked or variegated gillyflowers [pinks (Dianthus)], the product, apparently, of the new technique of cross breeding. In a memorable reply, Polixenes gently points out that the art involved in changing
