Apseudes talpa revisited (Crustacea; Tanaidacea). The impact on apseudidaen systematics

Zootaxa, 2011
The species Apseudes talpa is redescribed and its impact on the systematics of Apseudidae is discussed. The finding of multiple conflicting characters with the generic diagnosis, as well as the novel character of a denticulate ridge on the mandibular body, suggest that a redefinition of the genus Apseudes is necessary.

Tanaidacea of the Amundsen and Scotia seas: an unexplored diversity

Antarctic Science, 2014
AbstractThe Scotia Arc and Amundsen Sea are contrasting regions within West Antarctica. The Scotia Sea shelf is well studied and central to the origin and diversity of the Southern Ocean benthic fauna, whilst the shelf of Amundsen Sea is one of the least studied shelf areas in the world; a ‘white spot’ on the map of benthic research.

Of the five currently recognized species of Pseudosphyrupus C u p , 1980, P. siegi is most closely related to P. dispar (Lang, 1968), a southwestem Pacific cognate and only other member of the genus having a squama on ...
