Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Quantifying the impact of X-band InSAR penetration bias on elevation change and mass balance estimation

open access: yesAnnals of Glaciology, 2023
Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) data suffer from an elevation bias due to signal penetration into the firn and ice surface, rendering the height information unusable for elevation and mass-change detection.

TanDEM-X: mission concept and performance analysis [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings. 2005 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2005. IGARSS '05., 2005
This paper analyses the potential of TanDEM-X to acquire highly accurate digital elevation models (DEMs) on a global scale. For this, an appropriate mission concept will be introduced. This concept is based on an add-on satellite almost identical to the TerraSAR-X satellite, orbiting in close formation with it.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

POTENTIAL OF MULTITEMPORAL TANDEM-X DERIVED CROP SURFACE MODELS FOR MAIZE GROWTH MONITORING [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2016
In this study, first results of retrieving plant heights of maize fields from multitemporal TanDEM-X images are shown. Three TanDEM-X dual polarization spotlight acquisitions were taken over a rural area in Germany in the growing season 2014.

A Versatile Processing Chain for Experimental TanDEM-X Product Evaluation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
TanDEM-X is a high-resolution interferometric mission with the main goal of providing a global digital elevation model (DEM) of the Earth surface by means of single-pass X-band SAR interferometry.

TanDEM-X mission: Overview, challenges and status [PDF]

open access: yes2013 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium - IGARSS, 2013
TanDEM-X (TerraSAR-X add-on for Digital Elevation Measurement) opens a new era in spaceborne radar remote sensing [1]-[3], [9], [12]. A single-pass SAR interferometer with adjustable baselines in across- and in along-track directions was formed by adding a second (TDX), almost identical spacecraft to TerraSAR-X (TSX) and flying the two satellites in a ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

TANDEM-X height performance and data coverage [PDF]

open access: yes2017 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2017
TanDEM-X is a single-pass radar interferometric mission, which is comprised of two formation flying satellites, with the primary goal of generating a global Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of unprecedented accuracy. Between December 2010 and early 2015 all land surfaces have been acquired at least twice, difficult terrain up to seven or eight times and ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...
