The TerraSAR-X Mission and System Design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper describes the TerraSAR-X Mission Concept within the context of a public-private-partnership (PPP) agreement between the German Aerospace Center DLR and industry. It briefly describes the PPP-concept as well as the overall project organization.

Advanced interferometric SAR techniques with TanDEM-X [PDF]

open access: yes2008 IEEE Radar Conference, 2008
TanDEM-X is an innovative mission with a TerraSAR-X add-on satellite for high-resolution single-pass SAR interferometry. The TanDEM-X mission has the primary objective of generating a consistent, global DEM with an unprecedented accuracy according to the HRTI-3 specifications (2 m height accuracy, 12 m posting).

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Improving Forest Height-To-Biomass Allometry With Structure Information: A Tandem-X Study

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2021
Allometric relations that link forest above ground biomass to top forest (i.e., canopy) height are of particular significance in the context of lidar and interferometric synthetic aperture radar remote sensing, as both techniques allow accurate height ...

Retrieval of vegetation height in rice fields using polarimetric SAR interferometry with TanDEM-X data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This work presents for the first time a demonstration with satellite data of polarimetric SAR interferometry (PolInSAR) applied to the retrieval of vegetation height in rice fields.

Decorrelation effects in bistatic TanDEM-X data [PDF]

open access: yes2012 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2012
The TanDEM-X mission comprises two nearly identical satellites: TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X. The primary objective of the mission is the generation of a worldwide and consistent digital elevation model (DEM) with an unprecedented accuracy. The two satellites fly in a close orbit configuration and act as a large single-pass radar interferometer with the ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

A Large Along-Track Baseline Approach for Ground Moving Target Indication Using TanDEM-X [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In the paper a new method for ground moving target indication (GMTI) using two satellites (i.e. the TerraSAR-X and the TanDEM-X satellite) together is presented.

Observed crustal uplift near the Southern Patagonian Icefield constrains improved viscoelastic Earth model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Thirty‒one GPS geodetic measurements of crustal uplift in southernmost South America determined extraordinarily high trend rates (> 35 mm/yr) in the north‒central part of the Southern Patagonian Icefield.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...
