Geometry‐Dependent Adhesion in Transparent Monodomain Liquid Crystal Elastomers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid Crystal Elastomers (LCEs) are emerging as exciting pressure‐sensitive adhesives. We examine adhesion in chemically identical elastomer films, exploring the influence of geometry (director orientation) and phase (nematic or isotropic). We demonstrate the potential of these aligned films as transparent, tunable, broad‐temperature‐range smart ...

Sufficiency Conditions for a Class of Convex Functions Connected with Tangent Functions Associated with the Combination of Babalola Operators and Binomial Series

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, we create a new subclass of convex functions given with tangent functions applying the combination of Babalola operators and Binomial series.

Liquid Crystalline Inverted Lipid Phases and Reverse Micelles in Drug Delivery: From Molecular Design to Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid crystalline inverted lipid phases and reverse micelles are self‐assembled lipid nanostructures that enhance the solubility, stability, and delivery of diverse therapeutics. This review integrates their physicochemical principles, formulation strategies, drug loading mechanisms, and biomedical applications, highlighting their growing ...

A new class activation functions with application in the theory of impulse technics

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Sciences and Modelling, 2018
In this note we define the new activation functions, based on the well-known hyperbolic tangent and half--hyperbolic tangent activation functions. We consider the Hausdorff distance between the ''double step'' function $\sigma^{\ast}(t)$ (resp. function $

A novel active disturbance rejection control with hyperbolic tangent function for path following of underactuated marine surface ships

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 2020
This paper presents a TADRC method via active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) with hyperbolic tangent function for path following of underactuated surface ships with input constraint, heading rate constraint, parameters uncertainties, as well as ...

All‐Aqueous Pullulan Fibers Enabling Visible‐to‐Near‐Infrared Waveguiding with Mechanical and Thermal Resilience

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Pullulan, a biomass‐derived polysaccharide, is transformed into transparent optical fibers using a solvent‐free borax hydrogel‐spinning method. The fibers outperform PMMA with ≈200 MPa tensile strength and 200 °C stability, while uniquely guiding visible‐to‐NIR light and enabling additive‐free humidity sensing.

Stabilization of Miscible Aqueous Phases via Diffusion‐Controlled Multifunctional Nanoparticle‐Ligand Complexation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a versatile approach to harnessing miscible aqueous domains, enabling liquid‐in‐liquid compartmentalization using a barrier formed in situ rather than bulk immiscibility. The barrier forms upon the complexation of multifunctional nanoparticles and ligands at the contact boundary of aqueous phases.

Advantages of Dual Hyperbolic Tangent Function Over Single Hyperbolic Tangent Function in Description of Hysteresis Loops

open access: yesInternational Review of Electrical Engineering (IREE), 2016
If the mathematical description of the magnetic hysteresis loop branches should be simple, easy to use and should credibly describe the waveform magnetic hysteresis loop with a minimum number of parameters, then it inevitably leads to the description of magnetic hysteresis loop branches with a hyperbolic tangent function.

Tangent-Chebyshev rational maps and Redei functions

open access: yes, 2021
Recently Lima and Campello de Souza introduced a new class of rational functions over odd-order finite fields, and explained their potential usefulness in cryptography. We show that these new functions are conjugate to the classical family of Redei rational functions, so that the properties of the new functions follow from properties of Redei functions.
