Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

On Generating a New Family of Distributions Using the Tangent Function

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Statistics and Operation Research, 2018
In this paper, a method for generating a new family of univariate continuous distributions using the tangent function is proposed. Some general properties of this new family are discussed: hazard function, quantile function, Renyi and Shannon entropies ...

Comparison of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Energy Absorbers Under Uniaxial Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates LCD 3D printed Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures as mechanical energy absorbers. By comparing various base designs and layered combinations under uniaxial compression, it identifies that a Diamond‐Gyroid sandwich structure offers superior performance.

Quadratic differentials and equivariant deformation theory of curves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Given a finite p-group G acting on a smooth projective curve X over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic p, the dimension of the tangent space of the associated equivariant deformation functor is equal to the dimension of the space of ...

Another Robust NMF: Rethinking the Hyperbolic Tangent Function and Locality Constraint

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) is a classical data analysis tool for clustering tasks. It usually considers the squared loss to measure the reconstruction error, thus it is sensitive to the presence of outliers. Looking into the literature, most

Weak tangent and level sets of Takagi functions [PDF]

open access: yesMonatshefte für Mathematik, 2020
AbstractIn this paper, we study some properties of Takagi functions and their level sets. We show that for Takagi functions $$T_{a,b}$$Ta,b with parameters a, b such that ab is a root of a Littlewood polynomial, there exist large level sets. As a consequence, we show that for some parameters a, b, the Assouad dimension of graphs of $$T_{a,b}$$Ta,b is ...

New AI‐Assisted Approach for Expanding the Solution Space: Application to Lattice Structure Design

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces an innovative framework for designing structured materials by ex panding the design space through reparameterization of qualitative variables into continuous structural descriptors. Combined with machine‐learning‐based prediction and multi‐objective optimization, the approach enables the discovery of novel lattice architectures ...

Tangent curve utilization for description of mechanical behaviour of pressed mixture

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Engineering, 2011
This article is focused on the utilization of tangent curve for description of mechanical behaviour of pressed mixture under compression loading. The aim of this experiment was to determine the general equation describing deformation characteristics of ...
