Double Helix Structure for Stable Flexural Actuation in Soft Robotics
This work introduces a double‐helical architecture for soft robotic actuators that enhances twisting resistance, increases output force, and minimizes undesired deformation. Actuators driven by shape‐memory alloy wires exhibit a roughly fivefold higher torsional/flexural stiffness ratio and 50% greater force output.

Pre‐Curved Everting Robots With Embedded Steering Intelligence Fabricated by CO2 Laser Welding
Design and experimental demonstration of a laser welded growing robot for anatomically guided navigation. The robot follows an aortic arch phantom entering the branchiocephalic branch through steering by design. The figure shows the physical phantom setup, CAD defined weld geometry and full robot eversion.

A digital twin framework is presented for modular soft continuum arms built from fiber‐reinforced pneumatic actuators. Cosserat rod models describe individual actuators, while virtual assemblies are formed through serial and parallel networks, preserving actuator‐level architecture and arm deformation.

A hybrid mobile robot with a modular Variable‐Stiffness Bridge transitions between a rigid locomotion platform and a flexible, shape‐conforming body. By enclosing objects within its deformable structure rather than relying on dedicated end effectors, the robot achieves orientation‐regulated planar transport, with conformal contact quality shown to ...

A Cable‐Driven Parallel Wire Robot for Probe Positioning and Tissue Palpation on Curved Phantoms
A wearable cable‐driven parallel robot is introduced for autonomous ultrasound probe positioning and soft tissue palpation on curved surfaces. By combining visual feedback with tension‐optimized control, the system achieves millimeter‐scale positioning accuracy while enforcing safety force constraints.

Cooling holes provide a simple passive cooling strategy for polymer spur gears, reducing maximum operating temperature by up to 9.39% while introducing a measurable gear mesh stiffness penalty. A validated response‐surface model reveals how hole size and location govern this thermal–mechanical trade‐off, enabling design optimization for thermally and ...

Rheological Properties of Carboxymethyl Cellulose Solutions and Gels: An Overview
The rheology of carboxymethyl cellulose is determined by the balance between electrostatic interactions, chain entanglements and association of unsubstituted cellulose‐like domains. The degree of substitution, substitution pattern, added salt concentration and pH determine whether solutions behave as viscoelastic liquids or weak gels.
