Common tangent plane in mixed-gas adsorption [PDF]
The minimisation of the distance function between the Gibbs energy of mixing and its common tangent plane (or line) is applied to adsorbed solutions. A specific algorithm to deal with the associated bilevel programming problem is presented and discussed.

Iterative solution and preconditioning for the tangent plane scheme in computational micromagnetics [PDF]
The tangent plane scheme is a time-marching scheme for the numerical solution of the nonlinear parabolic Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert equation, which describes the time evolution of ferromagnetic configurations.

Approximating tensor product Bézier surfaces with tangent plane continuity
We present a simple method for degree reduction of tensor product Bézier surfaces with tangent plane continuity in L2-norm. Continuity constraints at the four corners of surfaces are considered, so that the boundary curves preserve endpoints continuity ...

Tangent-plane-continuity maximization based 3D point compression
Octree decomposition has been proven to be one of the most successful approaches for progressive geometry compression of 3D models. To exploit the spatial correlation among the points, people strive to improve the estimation of the non-emptiness of the ...

On Sets without Tangents in Galois Planes of Even Order
Designs, Codes and Cryptography, 2003It is shown that the cardinality of a nonempty set of points without tangents in the desarguesian projective plane \(\text{PG}(2,q)\), \(q\) even, is at least \(q+1+ \sqrt{q/6}\) provided that the set is not of even type; and some useful combinatoric properties of this finite geometry are given.
