Flow of Fluids with Pressure-Dependent Viscosity in Between Intersecting Planes

open access: yesFluids
The flow of an incompressible power-law fluid through a convergent channel is considered, where the viscosity is chosen to be pressure dependent. Instead of utilizing the classical similarity transformation traditionally employed when considering Jeffery-

Low‐Profile, High‐Gain GRIN RF Lenses via Multi‐Material Vat Photopolymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We investigate the opportunity of leveraging multi‐material vat photopolymerization printing to manufacture intricate lenses exhibiting permittivity gradients that can increase signal gain in transmitted radiofrequency signals in the X‐ and Ku‐bands. Lenses produced with more distinct low‐loss materials (up to 5) can deliver an 18 dB signal gain with a

Investigation of the effect of the working fluid flow parameters on the fineness of cleaning the centrifugal filter of the hydraulic system of a power plant [PDF]

open access: yesОмский научный вестник: Серия "Авиационно-ракетное и энергетическое машиностроение"
The article considers the influence of the parameters of the working fluid flow (flow rate, pressure, velocity) on the fineness of cleaning the centrifugal filter of the hydraulic system of a power plant.

Component Velocities and Turbulence Intensities within Ship Twin-Propeller Jet Using CFD and ADV

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2020
This study presents the decays of three components of velocity for a ship twin-propeller jet associated with turbulence intensities using the Acoustic Doppler Velocimetry (ADV) measurement and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods. Previous research

Experimental and Numerical Analysis of the Flow Inside a Configuration Including an Axial Pump and a Tubular Exchanger [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In centrifugal and axial pumps, the flow is characterized by a turbulent and complex behavior and also by physical mechanisms such as cavitation and pressure fluctuations that are mainly due to the strong interactions between the fixed and mobile parts ...

THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE TANGENTIAL VELOCITIES WITH P II STARS

open access: yesCommunications, Faculty Of Science, University of Ankara Series A1Mathematics and Statistics, 1963
In this paper for P II stars the distribution of the velocities Vg perpendicular to the radius vector from the galactic çenter to the sun is studied. The distribution curves Vg were derived from the space velocity vectors of the stars, as far as these space velo- city vectors are known.

Translational Considerations for Injectable Biomaterials and Bioscaffolds to Repair and Regenerate Brain Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The repair and regeneration of brain tissue faces both biological and technical challenges. Injectable bioscaffolds offer new opportunities to stimulate tissue regrowth in the brain by recruiting neural stem cells. Here, the translational issues are reviewed that need to be address to advance this promising new therapeutic approach from the bench to ...

Slowly rotating Bose Einstein condensate galactic dark matter halos, and their rotation curves

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2018
If dark matter is composed of massive bosons, a Bose–Einstein condensation process must have occurred during the cosmological evolution. Therefore galactic dark matter may be in a form of a condensate, characterized by a strong self-interaction.

Mechanically Programmable DNA Hydrogel Microparticles for 3D Cellular Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
DNA hydrogel microparticles are designed to exhibit controllable viscoelasticity and stiffness across three orders of magnitude from 30Pa$30 \,\mathrm{Pa}$ to 6.5kPa$6.5 \,\mathrm{kPa}$. They are uptaken into fibroblast spheroids where they are actively remodeled by cellular forces depending on their mechanical properties.
