Neural network based adaptive rise control of tank gun systems

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2020
Abstract With the development of the all-electric fourth-generation tank, higher requirements have been put forward for the accuracy and response speed of tank gun control and the traditional tank gun system modeling methods and control strategies failed to meet the requirements.

Alternating Current All-electrical Gun Control System in Tanks

open access: yesDefence Science Journal, 2004
The ac all-electrical gun control system is composed of permanent magnetic synchronous machine-drive control systems and the ball-screw by replacing the complicated electrohydraulic systems. At the same time, the variable-structure system with sliding modes makes the gun control systems to have higher performances using the only rate flexure gyroscope.

Measurements of Gun Tube Motion and Muzzle Pointing Error of Main Battle Tanks

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2001
Beginning in 1990, the US Army Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) began testing a prototype cannon mounted in a non-armored turret fitted to an M1A1 Abrams tank chassis. The cannon design incorporated a longer gun tube as a means to increase projectile velocity.
