Risperidone-induced tardive movements in young adult patients [PDF]
, 2004 Risperidone, a benzisoxazole compound, was the first of the new antipsychotic drugs to be introduced. Persistent abnormal movements such as tardive dyskinesia and dystonia are not common side effects associated with risperidone therapy.

Singapore medical journal, 1990 Three Chinese patients with the under-recognized condition of tardive dystonia are described. This is a physically and socially handicapping complication of neuroleptic treatment. A past history of acute dystonia does not appear to predict the future development of tardive dystonia. The need for judicious indication of neuroleptics is emphasised.
