Design and Generation of Gene‐Targeting Vectors

Current Protocols in Mouse Biology, 2011
AbstractThis unit provides an overview of the major types of mutant alleles that can be generated by gene targeting in ES cells. It presents the growing public resources of premade gene targeting vectors, modified ES cells, and mutant mice. General guidelines for the design of targeting vectors are followed by protocols for the construction of vectors ...

Targets for the Design of Antiviral Agents: Targets in Orthomyxoviruses

1984
To initiate replication influenza viruses bind to sialic acid residues of membrane glycoconjugates and are taken into intracellular vesicles by endocytosis. Fusion of virus membranes and endosomal membranes occurs and virus transcription complexes are transferred to cell nuclei where virus messenger RNAs are synthesized.

The design of polyvalent scaffolds for targeted delivery☆

Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, 2009
Nature makes extensive use of polyvalency-the simultaneous binding of multiple ligands to multiple complementary receptors. The concept of polyvalency can also be used to design synthetic scaffolds for applications ranging from the design of inhibitors for toxins and pathogens to delivery and imaging.

Clinical trial designs for targeted agents

Hematology/Oncology Clinics of North America, 2002
With an increasing number of targeted agents available for testing, clinical trials must be rationally designed based on sound knowledge of the molecular mechanisms linking target and disease, fortified by strong preclinical data demonstrating how this relationship is modified by the targeted agent.

Compound Library Design for Target Families

2009
Chemogenomics is a modern approach to analysis of the biological effect of a wide array of small molecule compounds on a large set of homologous receptors or other macromolecular drug targets. However, the relative productivity of the method and the extremely high-cost procedure jointly force the scientist to use additional computational tools for ...
