Target recognition techniques for multifunction phased array radar [PDF]
This thesis, submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at University College London, is a discussion and analysis of combined stepped-frequency and pulse-Doppler target recognition methods which enable a multifunction phased array radar designed

Target strengths of Antartic krill (Euphausia superba)
Encaged aggregations of swimming krill have been measured at 38 and 120 kHz. The results indicate that the target strength values are substantially lower than previously assumed.

MARK4 enhances stress granule formation under oxidative stress and increases tau accumulation
MARK4 (red dots) localizes to stress granules (orange dots) and promotes their formation under oxidative stress by modulating TIA1 (blue dots). MARK4 and TIA1 synergistically increase tau (purple) accumulation, and the reduction of the TIA1 ortholog suppresses neurodegeneration in a fly model.

Apparent target strength in long-rod penetration
The authors investigate the apparent enhancement of target strength in the steady-state Tate model of long-rod penetration. They show that computing the effective area over which the target behaves as a fluid provides an explanation of the effective 1-D ...

This pilot study investigates the potential of Generative AI to provide formative feedback to students. ChatGPT was prompted to provide feedback on Year 1 Bioscience essays, which were evaluated against established good feedback practices. GenAI‐authored feedback had useful elements, but was limited in scope. GenAI may have potential to provide instant,

Cancer treatment is associated with measurable acceleration of biological aging across epigenetic, telomere, senescence, and immune biomarkers. However, biomarker validation and interventional strategies remain limited, especially in hematologic malignancies, underscoring the need for standardized multi‐omic aging assessments and adequately powered ...

Bayesian Soft Target Zones. [PDF]
Several authors have postulated econometric models for exchange rates restricted to lie within known target zones. However, it is not uncommon to observe exchange rate data with known limits that are not fully 'credible'; that is, where some of the ...

Lower Limb Strength and Balance in Adults with and without Down Syndrome
Individuals with Down Syndrome demonstrate deficits in many physiological attributes, including muscular strength and balance. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between lower limb strength and balance in adults with and without ...

[18F]Fluorodeprenyl‐D2 PET as a Tool to Monitor Disease Activity in GAD65‐Ab Autoimmune Encephalitis
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate [18F]fluorodeprenyl‐D2 ([18F]F‐DED) positron‐emission tomography (PET) imaging as a biomarker of disease activity in autoimmune encephalitis (AIE) associated with glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) antibodies. Methods [18F]F‐DED PET was performed in 25 GAD65‐AIE patients and 8 controls using dynamic (0–60 min) and ...
