Advances and Perspectives in Graphene‐Based Quantum Dots Enabled Neuromorphic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphene‐based QDs are zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials with pronounced quantum confinement and tunable electronic structures. Herein, we summarize their synthesis strategies and functionalization methods, and highlight their functional roles and operating mechanisms in devices, as well as recent advances in neuromorphic electronics. We anticipate

Conversion of phenol-based tars over olivine and sand in a biomass gasification atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This study describes tar conversion on olivine in fluidized-bed gasification conditions. A laboratory-scale reactor (Aligator) was used to characterize phenol conversion to higher tars, before adding a sand and olivine bed to investigate heterogeneous ...

DMS‐MaPseq and DREEM Analyses Implicate the Critical Role of RNA Structural Dynamics in Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus Pathogenicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RNA structural profiling of Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus by DMS‐MaPseq and DREEM analyses uncover that viral genome‐wide RSS is highly complicated and heterogeneous, with alternative RSSs widely distributed across the genome. Notably, the viral 3’ tRNA‐like structure adopts alternative conformations in vivo.

Transverse Aeolian Ridges (TARs) on Mars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Aeolian processes are probably the dominant ongoing surface modification process on Mars, as demonstrated by observations of dunes, ripples, yardangs, ventifacts, wind streaks, dust devils and dust storms.

Extreme‐Thickness Meta‐Membrane for Controlling Terahertz Vectorial Beams

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We propose ultra‐thin (λ/30) transmissive terahertz metasurfaces combining near‐field resonant and detour phases in coupled‐slit meta‐atoms, enabling continuous phase and polarization control beyond conventional designs. Based on leaky‐mode theory, scalar and vectorial terahertz Bessel beams at 0.39 THz are experimentally demonstrated, with ...

A Study of the Conversion Kinetics of High-Viscosity Oil Components During Ultrasonic Treatment in the Presence of Zeolite

open access: yesFuels
In this work, the kinetics of the redistribution of oils, resins, and asphaltenes in high-viscosity oil from the Karazhanbas field (Republic of Kazakhstan) were investigated.

A Phase‐Resolved Geometric Deep Learning Framework Maps Structural Determinants of Disease‐Associated Protein Aggregation and Guides Suppressor Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SKALE 2.0 maps disease‐associated protein aggregation as a phase‐resolved structural process, linking mutation‐induced geometric perturbations to nucleation, elongation, and suppressor design. Across neurodegenerative proteins, the framework reveals cryptic aggregation vulnerabilities, separates phase‐concordant and phase‐switching mutations, and ...

A Phosphorylation‐Induced Micellization Switch in the Low‐Complexity Domain of TDP‐43

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phosphorylation of TAR DNA‐binding protein's 43 kDa (TDP‐43) low‐complexity domain by casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) acts as a molecular switch, redirecting its self‐assembly from macroscopic phase separation toward finite‐sized, spherical block‐copolymer micelles of ∼30 nm.

Influence of mechanical activation on the oil composition and on characteristics of its fraction boiling away above 500ºС

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии, 2010
The pressure effect in the disintegration unit DA-1 on the oil has been investigated. A change in oil composition and indicators characterizing some properties of the residual fraction of direct distillation has been identified.
