Trabecular bone ontogeny of the human talus

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 309, Issue 7, Page 1837-1874, July 2026.
Abstract Studies of trabecular ontogeny may provide insight into the factors that drive healthy bone development. There is a growing understanding of how the juvenile skeleton responds to these influences; however, gaps in our knowledge remain. This study aims to identify ontogenetic trabecular patterns and regional changes during development within ...

Towards Characterization of Five‐List‐Colorability of Toroidal Graphs

open access: yesJournal of Graph Theory, Volume 112, Issue 3, Page 267-275, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Through computer‐assisted enumeration, we list minimal obstructions for 5‐choosability of graphs on the torus with the following additional property: There exists a cyclic system of non‐contractible triangles around the torus where the consecutive triangles are at distance at most four.

Small molecules as arthropod kinin receptor antagonists, feeding modulators, or novel mosquitocidal agents

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 7, Page 6842-6863, July 2026.
A two‐pronged screen of small molecules – (1) on recombinant kinin receptor and (2) through topical application – identifies kinin receptor antagonists, feeding behavior modulators, and new mosquitocidal molecules. Abstract BACKGROUND Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes are primary vectors for numerous human and animal pathogens and ...

Species‐Specific Adaptability in Seasonal Resource Use by Non‐Breeding Crows: Contrasting Responses to Natural and Anthropogenic Environments

open access: yesEcological Research, Volume 41, Issue 4, July 2026.
Two sympatric crow species showed distinct resource use during the snow‐free season, exploiting different environments and anthropogenic resources. In contrast, during winter, both species converged on similar habitats and food resources under snow cover. These results highlight flexible, season‐dependent resource use in non‐breeding crows.
