A Detailed Analysis of Task Performance With and Without Computer Monitoring

International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction, 2003
Participants (N = 115) performed a computerized task under 3 conditions: no supervision, direct human supervision, and computer monitoring. Differences in performance across groups was evaluated using summary performance measures and detailed analyses of group performance over time.

Analysis of hand movements during the performance of positioning tasks

Ergonomics, 1983
An electroacoustic method was developed to analyse hand movements in space. This method was used to analyse the control error of the hand-arm system during the performance of a simple cyclic positioning task. It could be shown that the traces of the hand movements become significantly more dispersed with increasing time at work.

A Theoretical Analysis of the Impact of Task Scope on Employee Performance

Academy of Management Review, 1976
A model is presented linking task scope to employee motivation and performance. Emphasis is given to the importance of objective, environmental (versus psychological) conceptualizations of task scope. Psychological reactions to variations in task scope are depicted as dependent on intervening constructs.

Motor expertise and performance in spatial tasks: A meta-analysis

Human Movement Science, 2017
The present study aimed to provide a summary of findings relevant to the influence of motor expertise on performance in spatial tasks and to examine potential moderators of this effect. Studies of relevance were those in which individuals involved in activities presumed to require motor expertise were compared to non-experts in such activities. A final

Spatial Task Performance: A Meta-Analysis

Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness, 1988
The literature which compared spatial task performance of blind and sighted subjects was analyzed using a meta-analytic approach. Effect sizes were computed for comparisons between early versus late onset visually impaired subjects, early onset versus sighted, late onset versus sighted, and mixed onset versus sighted.

A computerized analysis of robotic versus laparoscopic task performance

Surgical Endoscopy, 2007
Robotic technology has been postulated to improve performance in advanced surgical skills. We utilized a novel computerized assessment system to objectively describe the technical enhancement in task performance comparing robotic and laparoscopic instrumentation.Advanced laparoscopic surgeons (2-10 yrs experience) performed three unique task modules ...

Visual Behavior Analysis of Human Performance in Precision Tasks

2015
In this paper we have presented a pilot study done on seven subjects for analyzing the variation of human task performance on precision manual tasks by changing the visual distance. A trivial screw fastening task was performed at sitting and standing posture.

On-the-Job Tasks and Performance Pay: A Vacancy-Level Analysis

ILR Review, 2010
Drawing on a dataset of job openings posted at an online job board, the authors find that employers are less likely to offer performance-based pay when a job entails multitasking, quality control, or team work than when a job does not entail these tasks.

Analysis of Tasks Performed by Certified Ophthalmic Medical Personnel

Ophthalmology, 1995
Proper delegation of routine tasks to trained personnel might increase cost efficiency by freeing the physician to concentrate on the medical and judgmental aspects of patient care. In ophthalmology, certified ophthalmic medical personnel (OMP) assist the physician by performing many tasks.
