A new consistent and high-precision earthquake catalogue for the Taupō Volcanic Zone, New Zealand
The Taupō Volcanic Zone is a ~300 km long, volcanically active region in the North Island of Aotearoa New Zealand. As well as hosting numerous active volcanoes, it is also one of the most seismically active parts of the country.

Seismic Swarms Occurrence Rate and b-value Mapping at Taupo Volcanic Zone
We analyze the seismicity of the Taupō Volcanic Zone (TVZ) over a 17-year period (2007-2024) using a swarm-informed ETAS model and high-resolution b-value mapping.

Igneous centres across the Taranaki Peninsula represent the southwestern limit of arc volcanism associated with the Tonga–Kermadec–Hikurangi subduction system. Taranaki Maunga, the youngest and largest of three andesitic stratovolcanoes, dominates the geomorphology of the Taranaki Peninsula along with the eroded remnants of the Kaitake and Pouakai ...

Supercritical geothermal systems are very high-temperature geothermal systems that are located at depths near or below the brittle–ductile transition zone in the crust where the reservoir fluid is assumed to be in the supercritical state, that is for ...

This study presents the computational components and workflow developed to conduct probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA) in New Zealand (NZ) using physics‐based ground‐motion simulations, referred to as “CyberShake NZ.” Semi‐automated procedures generate multiple realizations of kinematic rupture models, create rupture‐specific velocity models ...

CO2 flux measurements are often used to monitor volcanic systems, understand the cause of volcanic unrest, and map sub-surface structures. Currently, such measurements are incomplete at Tarawera (New Zealand), which erupted with little warning in 1886 ...

Abstract Zooplankton transfer substantial energy in aquatic food webs and are used as indicators of environmental change. Syntheses of zooplankton community dynamics globally require datasets that span a wide range of environmental gradients; however, these datasets are limited due to methodological differences across programs, taxonomic ...

Implications of Thermal Weakening and Magma Compressibility for Volcano Monitoring
Abstract Magmatic intrusion and volcanic deformation are traditionally approximated with an inflating cavity in an elastic halfspace. Various analytical models predict surface displacement as a function of pressure or volume change, depth, and elastic crustal properties.
