Besov spaces on open sets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper is devoted to giving definitions of Besov spaces on an arbitrary open set of $\mathbb R^n$ via the spectral theorem for the Schr\"odinger operator with the Dirichlet boundary condition.

Longitudinal propagation velocity of the normal zone in superconducting wires [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
The longitudinal propagation of the normal zone in superconducting wires was experimentally investigated in order to evaluate existing analytical expressions which attempt to describe the propagation velocity in a more or less simple manner.

Self‐Assembled Luminescent Au(I)–Adamantylamine Coordination Polymer Needles With Thermoresponsive Optical Properties

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A self‐assembled hydrophobic and red phosphorescent Au(I) coordination polymer (CP) was synthesized under mild conditions. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction (XRD) demonstrated linear Au(I) chains stabilized by aurophilic and hydrogen bonding interactions.

The line parameters and ratios as the physical probe of the line emitting regions in AGN

open access: yes, 2009
Here we discuss the physical conditions in the emission line regions (ELR) of active galactic nuclei (AGN), with the special emphasize on the unresolved problems, e.g.

Increased calcification by erythrophagocytosis in aortic valvular interstitial cells

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1469-1473, April 2025.
Abstract Background Calcific aortic valve disease (CAVD) progresses over time to severe aortic stenosis and eventually heart failure. Recent evidence indicates that intraleaflet haemorrhage (ILH) strongly promotes CAVD progression. However, it remains poorly understood how it mechanistically contributes to valvular calcification.

Are sensory processing difficulties in infancy predictive of child mental health at 5‐years? Findings from the Etude Longitudinale Francaise depuis l'Enfance French national birth cohort

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background People with neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions have been demonstrated to have elevated rates of sensory processing (SP) difficulties in research and practice but the temporal order of this relationship is unclear. Methods This study sought to investigate whether SP difficulties in infancy predicted mental health at 5 ...

TAV-in-TAV Explant Through Surgical Resection of Prosthetic Valve Leaflets Under Direct Vision: SURPLUS+

open access: yesMethodist DeBakey Cardiovascular Journal
Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has become a widely utilized procedure for treating aortic stenosis (AS). However, TAVR-related complications are rising, with TAVR explants becoming the fastest growing cardiac surgery procedure. We report a

On the well-posedness of the full compressible Navier-Stokes system in critical Besov spaces

open access: yes, 2014
We are concerned with the Cauchy problem of the full compressible Navier-Stokes equations satisfied by viscous and heat conducting fluids in $\mathbb{R}^n.$ We focus on the so-called critical Besov regularity framework.

Subsonic turbulence in smoothed particle hydrodynamics and moving-mesh simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Highly supersonic, compressible turbulence is thought to be of tantamount importance for star formation processes in the interstellar medium. Likewise, cosmic structure formation is expected to give rise to subsonic turbulence in the intergalactic medium,

Chain‐End Grafting of RAFT Polyelectrolyte Macroligands to Stabilize Near‐Infrared‐Emitting Gold Nanoclusters

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Surface‐functionalized gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) are synthesized in situ by chain‐end grafting of RAFT polyelectrolytes at room temperature directly in water. It leads to highly stable polymer‐AuNCs nanohybrids emitting near‐infrared photoluminescence with µs lifetimes. ABSTRACT With their photoluminescence properties, gold nanoclusters (AuNCs, d<2 nm)
