Taxol in ovarian cancer

Cancer, 1993
AbstractTaxol is a structurally complex natural plant product with a novel mechanism of action. The supply of this drug is limited by its low abundance in the bark of the slow‐growing yew tree from which it is extracted. The chemical complexity of taxol has hampered the development of a feasible process to synthesize large quantities.

Extravasation de paclitaxel (Taxol®)

La Revue de Médecine Interne, 1995
Paclitaxel is a new antimitotic derived from yew-tree, used for the treatment of ovarian and breast cancers. The local toxicity of paclitaxel is still poorly known. We report one of the first observations of accidental subcutaneous extravastion of paclitaxel.

Novel Taxol formulations: Taxol-containing liposomes.

Journal of the National Cancer Institute. Monographs, 1994
Taxol is a complex diterpenoid natural product under investigation for therapy of colon, ovarian, lung, and breast cancer, as well as for melanoma and lymphoma. One problem associated with the administration of Taxol is its low solubility; the formulation used clinically contains polyethoxylated castor oil (Cremophor EL) and ethanol as excipients ...

Taxol reactions.

Allergy and asthma proceedings, 2002
Paclitaxel (Taxol) a taxane antineoplastic agent causing irreversible microtubule aggregation with activity against breast, ovarian, lung, head and neck, bladder, testicular, esophageal, endometrial and other less common tumors was derived from the bark of the Pacific yew (Taxus brevifolia). Phase I trials conducted in the late 1980s were almost halted
