Sequence-based species delimitation for the DNA taxonomy of undescribed insects.
Cataloging the very large number of undescribed species of insects could be greatly accelerated by automated DNA based approaches, but procedures for large-scale species discovery from sequence data are currently lacking.

This study presents an innovative oral microalgae‐based biosystem to inhibit tumor growth, reduce PD‐1 expression, and activate immune responses of hepatocellular carcinoma. When combined with enhanced irreversible electroporation treatment, it demonstrates a synergistic effect that effectively reduces the tumor burden and enhances the tumor immune ...

This study uses gut microbiome data to predict corticosteroid response in patients with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). Fecal samples from 212 patients with ITP are sequenced. Six machine‐learning algorithms are used to train predictive models. The support vector machine‐based model integrated clinical data and selected microbial species, diversities ...

Gut Microbiota‐Butyrate‐PPARγ Axis Modulates Adipose Regulatory T Cell Population
This study identifies the indispensable role of gut microbiota in the maintenance of ST2+ adipose Treg cell population, and defines gut microbiota‐derived butyrate as an endogenous PPARγ agonist, modulating adipose Treg cell populations via promoting PPARγ activation. Butyrate or fiber supplementation restores the VAT ST2+ Treg population in obese mice

CN-Probase: A Data-driven Approach for Large-scale Chinese Taxonomy Construction [PDF]
Taxonomies play an important role in machine intelligence. However, most well-known taxonomies are in English, and non-English taxonomies, especially Chinese ones, are still very rare. In this paper, we focus on automatic Chinese taxonomy construction and propose an effective generation and verification framework to build a large-scale and high-quality

This study presents a novel polyphenol‐nanozyme‐armored probiotic system (ECA@EcN) for enhanced treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). By integrating chitosan‐modified epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG‐CS) with gold nanozymes, the system effectively scavenges ROS, improves probiotic viability, and restores gut microbiota balance.

Microbial systematics has always been a misunderstood scientific discipline. It is readily assumed that systematists use antiquated techniques to examine the molecular, morphological, physiological, and biochemical properties of microorganisms. It is also believed that the circumscription of novel taxa is not essential let alone a requirement and it is

This work proposes a novel strategy targeting gut microbiota for managing polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Inulin, a gut microbiota modulator, notably boosts the growth of short‐chain fatty acids (SCFAs)‐producers, represented by Bifidobacterium, thereby improving glucolipid metabolism and ovarian function of PCOS through suppressing the inflammatory ...

Echinocereus pensilis updated [PDF]
The taxonomy of the unique Echinocereus pensilis is updated based on recent molecular evidence that supports the 1974 reassessment of this species as meriting its one genus. Hence the most appropriate current taxonomy is for a monospecific genus with the
