Taxonomic revision of Sobralia section Racemosae Brieger (Sobralieae, Orchidaceae)
Sobralia Ruiz & Pav. is a large and morphologically diverse neotropical orchid genus. It can be divided into four sections and some informal groups of species based mainly on the inflorescence architecture.

What a MESS: Multi-Domain Evaluation of Zero-Shot Semantic Segmentation [PDF]
While semantic segmentation has seen tremendous improvements in the past, there are still significant labeling efforts necessary and the problem of limited generalization to classes that have not been present during training. To address this problem, zero-shot semantic segmentation makes use of large self-supervised vision-language models, allowing ...

Crosstalk between gut microbiota and tumor: tumors could cause gut dysbiosis and metabolic imbalance
In this research, we analyzed the relationship between gut microbiota and tumor. We discovered that both subcutaneous and metastatic tumors would alter the composition and metabolic function of gut microbiota. Meanwhile, fecal microbiota transplantation also indicated the anti‐tumor role of the gut microbiota, revealing the crosstalk between tumor and ...

NAD+ regeneration by mitochondrial complex I NADH dehydrogenase is important for cancer cell proliferation. Specifically, NAD+ is necessary for the activities of NAD+‐dependent deacetylases SIRT3 and SIRT7, which suppress the expression of p21Cip1 cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitor, an antiproliferative molecule, at the translational and transcriptional

CoRel: Seed-Guided Topical Taxonomy Construction by Concept Learning and Relation Transferring [PDF]
Taxonomy is not only a fundamental form of knowledge representation, but also crucial to vast knowledge-rich applications, such as question answering and web search. Most existing taxonomy construction methods extract hypernym-hyponym entity pairs to organize a "universal" taxonomy.

This study develops a semi‐supervised classifier integrating multi‐genomic data (1404 training/5893 validation samples) to improve homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) detection in breast cancer. Our method demonstrates prognostic value and predicts chemotherapy/PARP inhibitor sensitivity in HRD+ tumours.

RaTE: a Reproducible automatic Taxonomy Evaluation by Filling the Gap [PDF]
Taxonomies are an essential knowledge representation, yet most studies on automatic taxonomy construction (ATC) resort to manual evaluation to score proposed algorithms. We argue that automatic taxonomy evaluation (ATE) is just as important as taxonomy construction.
