Overexpression of BAPT and DBTNBT genes in Taxus baccata in vitro cultures to enhance the biotechnological production of paclitaxel

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 22, Issue 1, Page 233-247, January 2024.
Summary Paclitaxel is one of the most effective anticancer drugs ever developed. Although the most sustainable approach to its production is provided by plant cell cultures, the yield is limited by bottleneck enzymes in the taxane biosynthetic pathway: baccatin‐aminophenylpropanoyl‐13‐O‐transferase (BAPT) and 3′‐N‐debenzoyltaxol N‐benzoyltransferase ...

Disentangling human activity and climate change impacts on suitable habitats of Taxus in China using an ensemble modeling approach

open access: yesTrees, Forests and People
This study employs an ensemble modeling approach to systematically assess the impacts of human activities and climate change on suitable habitats of five Taxus species in China (T. wallichiana var. mairei, T. cuspidata, T. chinensis, T.

Structures of Taxchinins L and M, Two New Diterpenoids from Taxus chinensis var. Mairei.

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 1996
The structures of two new diterpenoids, taxchinin L (1) and taxchinin M (2), from the leaves and stems of Taxus chinensis var. mairei were elucidated by means of NMR spectroscopy. These diterpenoids have an 11(15-->1)-abeo-taxane skeleton and exist as an equilibrium mixture of two conformers in CDCl3 at an ambient temperature.

An endophytic Taxol-producing fungus BT2 isolated from Taxus chinensis var. mairei

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Biotechnology, 2009
BT2, a newly isolated endophytic fungus from Taxus chinensis var. mairei, was observed to produce Taxol. Besides Taxol, a potent anticancer drug, BT2 could also yield taxane baccatin III, which was an important intermediate for Taxol and semi-synthesis of Taxol in industry.
