Interspecific relationships and origins of Taxaceae and Cephalotaxaceae revealed by partitioned Bayesian analyses of chloroplast and nuclear DNA sequences [PDF]
The precise delimitation of Taxaceae and Cephalotaxaceae is not totally resolved. Some contradicting taxonomic proposals have been published, which demonstrates the difficulties in establishing a natural classification of the families and especially in ...

Stimulation of taxane production in suspension cultures of Taxus yunnanensis by oligogalacturonides
When Taxus yunnanensis cells of 12-day-old cultures were exposed to oligogalacturonide (OGA) at 20-80µg ml-1 for 3 days, it was found that paclitaxel and 10-deacetyl baccatin III (10-DAB III) content peaked at 23 and 24 µg g-1 dry wt, respectively. OGA treatment increased taxane release percentage(extracellular release ratio) from 10 to 90%.

Foundation species across a latitudinal gradient in China [PDF]
Foundation species structure forest communities and ecosystems but are difficult to identify without long-term observations or experiments. We used statistical criteria--outliers from size-frequency distributions and scale-dependent negative effects on ...

Phylogenetic relationships of the genus Taxus inferred from chloroplast intergenic spacer and nuclear coding DNA [PDF]
A cladistic analysis of the medicinal plant Taxus, using the sequences of one chloroplast (trnS-trnQ spacer) and three nuclear taxadiene synthase (TS), 10-deacetylbaccatin III-10 beta-O-acetyltransferase (DBAT), and 18S rDNA) molecular markers, was ...

Secoisolariciresinol and isotaxiresinol inhibit tumor necrosis factor-\u3b1-dependent hepatic apoptosis in mice [PDF]
effects of secoisolariciresinol (1) and isotaxiresinol (2), two major lignans isolated from the wood of Taxus yunnanensis, on tumor necrosis factor-\u3b1 (TNF-\u3b1)-dependent hepatic apoptosis induced by D-galactosamine (d-GalN)/lipopolysaccharide (LPS)
