Rejoinder to “On the Misuse of Taylor Expansion”
Abstract This article is the rejoinder to: The authors replied as follows: We thank Drs Wang, Zhang, Feng, and Tu for pointing out a missing op(1) term in a Taylor expansion in Theorem 2 of Supplementary Materials to Zhao and Prentice (2014), an omission that apparently occurred also in several earlier ...

NON-TAYLOR SERIES BASED POSITIONING METHOD FOR LOCATION BASED SERVICES
Location Based Services (LBS) has gained increasing popularity in major cities. Due to blocking from man-made structures, the existing Global Positioning System (GPS) could not satisfy LBS applications, especially in street canyon and indoor surroundings.

A probabilistic Taylor expansion with Gaussian processes
We study a class of Gaussian processes for which the posterior mean, for a particular choice of data, replicates a truncated Taylor expansion of any order.

Glueability of resource proof-structures: Inverting the Taylor expansion [PDF]
A Multiplicative-Exponential Linear Logic (MELL) proof-structure can be expanded into a set of resource proof-structures: its Taylor expansion. We introduce a new criterion characterizing those sets of resource proof-structures that are part of the ...

An Alternative Approach to Energy Eigenvalue Problems of Anharmonic Potentials
Energy eigenvalues of quartic and sextic type anharmonic potentials are obtained by using an alternative method called asymptotic Taylor expansion method (ATEM) which is an approximate approach based on the asymptotic Taylor series expansion of a ...

4D-TExS: A new 4D lattice-QCD equation of state with extended density coverage [PDF]
Although calculations of QCD thermodynamics from first-principle lattice simulations are limited to zero net-density due to the fermion sign problem, several methods have been developed to extend the equation of state (EoS) to finite values of the B, Q ...

Weak Itô-Taylor expansions are presented for the functional \(f(t, X_t)\), where \(X_t\) is the solution of a vector Itô stochastic differential equation. A systematic approach for finding the terms in the expansions is described and then used to list the terms up to order 6 for the one-dimensional case.

A New Localization Algorithm Based on Taylor Series Expansion for NLOS Environment
In Non-Line-Of-Sight (NLOS) environment, location accuracy of Taylorseries expansion location algorithm degrades greatly. A new Taylor-series expansion location algorithm based on self-adaptive Radial-Basis-Function (RBF) neural network is proposed in ...

ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...
