Taylor–Fourier Approximation

open access: yesJournal of Scientific Computing
Abstract In this paper, we introduce an algorithm that provides approximate solutions to semi-linear ordinary differential equations with highly oscillatory solutions, which, after an appropriate change of variables, can be rewritten as non-autonomous systems with a

Physical Origin of Temperature Induced Activation Energy Switching in Electrically Conductive Cement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The temperature‐induced Arrhenius activation energy switching phenomenon of electrical conduction in electrically conductive cement originates from structural degradation within the biphasic ionic‐electronic conduction architecture and shows percolation‐governed characteristics: pore network opening dominates the low‐percolation regime with downward ...

Performance Improvements through Implementation of Lean Practices: A Study of the U.K. Red Meat Industry [PDF]

open access: yes
'Lean' is an established industrial paradigm with proven track record in various sectors of the industry (Womack & Jones, 1996). World-class Companies such as Toyota (second biggest global car manufacturer), Porsche (most profitable global OEM), Boeing ...

Transcription Factor Promiscuity Drives Regulatory Rewiring and Evolvability in Gene Networks in Bacteria

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
When a master transcription factor (TF) is lost, bacteria can rapidly rewire gene regulatory networks by co‐opting related regulators. Using experimental evolution in Pseudomonas fluorescens, we show that TF promiscuity (low‐level, non‐cognate binding) provides the raw material for rewiring. Successful co‐option follows a predictable hierarchy governed

Wearable Tailored Passive Radiative Cooling Textile for Flexible Electronic Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A scalable, additive‐free wearable tailored passive radiative cooling textile (WRCT) with hierarchically structured fibers delivers exceptional thermal management, combining >95% solar reflectance, 0.96 mid‐infrared emissivity, and ultralow thermal conductivity (0.041 W/m·K).

Linking Plant Metabolomics with Fungal Functional Dynamics Reveals a Noncanonical S‐R‐C Adaptive Trajectory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using field‐based holo‐omics, we demonstrate that developmental shifts in sorghum leaf metabolomes drive a noncanonical fungal succession from stress tolerators (S) through ruderals (R) to competitors (C). Antifungal metabolites in young leaves select for S strategists with expanded genomes, transient maltose pulses during flowering favor fast‐growing ...
