Selective Use of TBP and TFIIB Revealed by a TATA-TBP-TFIIB Array with Altered Specificity

open access: yesScience, 1997
Interaction between the TATA box-binding protein TBP and TFIIB is critical for transcription in vitro. An altered-specificity TBP-TFIIB interaction was rationally designed and linked in sequence to an altered-specificity TATA box-TBP interaction to study how TBP and TFIIB function together to support transcription in human cells.

TBP, un facteur de transcription universel ? [TBP, a universal transcription factor ?]

open access: yes, 2004
The TATA binding protein (TBP) is a subunit of several macromolecular complexes required for transcription by the three nuclear RNA polymerases. This observation led to the idea that TBP is a "universal" transcription factor. The discovery of three TBP-related factors and a macromolecular complex which lacks TBP but can support RNA polymerase II ...

Magnetic excitations in TbP [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1979
Abstract The magnetic Г 1 - Г 4 exciton of the singlet ground state system TbP has been studied by inelastic neutron scattering above the antiferromagnetic ordering temperature. It showed considerable dispersion and a pronounced splitting in the [001] and the [110] directions which increased as the transition temperature was approached in ...

TBP-associated factors in Arabidopsis

Gene, 2004
Initiation of transcription mediated by RNA polymerase II requires a number of transcription factors among which TFIID is the major core promoter recognition factor. TFIID is composed of highly conserved factors which include the TATA-binding protein (TBP) and about 14 TBP-associated factors (TAFs). Since TAFs play important roles in transcription they

Transoral Buccinator-Pexy (TBP)

Annals of Plastic Surgery, 2014
We describe a novel surgical technique to enhance the aesthetics of the midface by creating malar dimples. Dimples are the natural cheek indentations that become more apparent with facial animation. The aim of this study is to present our technique to create the appearance of these natural indentations using a simple transoral approach and to assess ...

Transcription sans TBP

Nature, 1998
Several general ‘rules’ have emerged over the years about the requirements for transcription of genes. One of these was that the TATA-binding protein (TBP) is essential, both for initiation of transcription by recognizing the promoter, and for assembly of transcription complexes.

Rapid quantification of TBP and TBP degradation product ratios by FTIR-ATR

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2012
Tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP) is the key complexant within the plutonium and uranium reduction extraction process used to extract uranium and plutonium from used nuclear fuel. During reprocessing TBP degrades to dibutyl phosphate (DBP), butyl acid phosphate (MBP), butanol, and phosphoric acid over time.

The Application of the TBP Test to Bile

Journal of Analytical Toxicology, 1984
Emelina G. Saker Department of Toxicology, Georgia Division of Forensic Sciences, P.O. Box 1456, Atlanta, Georgia 31371 buffer pH 7 in a 10-mm • 75-mm tube (to obtain the desired pH of 6 to 7). The mixture was vortexed briefly and 0.2 ml of TBP reagent added. It was then vortexed again for 10 to 15 sec, and certrifuged for 3 to 5 min.

Tubulin-Based Polymorphism (TBP) in Plant Genotyping

2023
Tubulin-based polymorphism (TBP) is an intron length polymorphism (ILP) method widely applicable to any plant species and particularly suitable for a first and rapid classification of any plant genome. It is based on the selective, polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based amplification of the two introns present at conserved positions within the coding ...
