A Moving Source Localization Method Based on TDOA and TDOA Rate

2021 IEEE International Conference on Signal Processing, Communications and Computing (ICSPCC), 2021
In this paper, a novel moving source localization method based on arrival time measurement is proposed. Firstly, the time difference of arrival (TDOA) and its change rate are estimated from the time of arrival (TOA) sequences. Then an initial solution of position and velocity is obtained by applying the well-known two-step weighted least-squares (TSWLS)

ADMM-Based TDOA Estimation

IEEE Communications Letters, 2018
Accurate estimation of time difference of arrival (TDOA) between sensors is a fundamental problem in various applications of sensor networks. In this letter, a novel algorithm is proposed to estimate TDOAs based on low-rank essence of a TDOA matrix, whose entry $(i,j)$ denotes TDOA value between sensors $i$ and $j$ with respect to a ...

TDOA Positioning Based on Factor Graphs

2006 IEEE 17th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2006
In this paper, we introduce a factor graph based positioning algorithm in wireless cellular networks using time difference of arrival (TDoA) measurements provided by the base stations. The localization process of the mobile station results in a non-linear estimation problem which cannot be solved analytically.

TDOA Localization in Asynchronous WSNs

2014 12th IEEE International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing, 2014
This paper proposes a procedure based on time-difference of arrival measurements to localize a blind node in an asynchronous network where a set of nodes with known position is present. The proposed method computes the time-difference of arrival of each transmitted signal to any pair of receiving nodes in order to get rid of the unknown transmission ...

Calibration-free TDOA self-localisation

Journal of Location Based Services, 2013
We present an approach for the localisation of passive receiver nodes in a communication network. The only source of information is the time when environmental sound or ultrasound signals are received. The discrete signals occur at unknown positions and times, but they can be distinguished.

Wireless Localization Using TDOA-DOA

International Journal on Communications Antenna and Propagation (IRECAP), 2015
This paper describes a hybrid estimate DOA/TDOA (Direction of Arrival/Time Difference of Arrival) location estimation method based on the Multiple Signal classification MUSIC algorithm. The method utilized estimates the Direction (Angle) of Arrival (DOA) and Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA).

An improved method to sort and pair TDOA based on the correlation between TDOAs

Proceedings of 2011 IEEE CIE International Conference on Radar, 2011
In TDOA passive location system, the situations in which false TDOA combinations arose are sorted. For extracting the correct TDOA combination of the radiant source, an improved method to sort and pair TDOA is proposed in this paper. The method can eliminate the false TDOA combinations which are reduced by sub-PRI(pulse repetition interval) of the ...

Positioning Algorithms for Cellular Networks Using TDOA

2006 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speed and Signal Processing Proceedings, 2006
In this paper, we investigate the performance of positioning algorithms in wireless cellular networks based on time difference of arrival (TDoA) measurements provided by the base stations. The localization process of the mobile station results in a non-linear least squares estimation problem which cannot be solved analytically.

ASYNCHRONICZNA METODA TDOA

PRZEGLĄD TELEKOMUNIKACYJNY - WIADOMOŚCI TELEKOMUNIKACYJNE, 2015
Przedstawiono nową metode lokalizowania terminali ruchomych MT (Mobile Terminal) w sieciach radiowych, w ktorych stacje bazowe BS (Base Station) pracują asynchronicznie wzgledem siebie. Metoda ta, nazwana ATDOA (Asynchronous Time Difference of Arrival), umozliwia estymacje polozenia MT na podstawie pomiarow roznicy czasow propagacji sygnalow radiowych ...
