Comparison of the single reflection and total reflection TDS techniques

Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1984
The single reflection TDS technique is compared with the total reflection technique on the basis of measurements performed on ethanediol and formamide over the frequency range of 108-1010 Hz. While confirming that single reflection TDS does indeed offer superior precision for measurements on high permittivity materials, such as water and formamide, at ...

Pressure transient analysis for long homogeneous reservoirs using TDS technique

Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 2007
Abstract A significant number of well pressure tests are conducted in long, narrow reservoirs with close and open extreme boundaries. It is desirable not only to appropriately identify these types of systems but also to develop an adequate and practical interpretation technique to determine their parameters and size, when possible.

Estimating Reservoir Parameters Using Thermal Transient Testing (TDS Technique)

SPE Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition, 2013
Abstract In the estimation of most reservoir parameters in well test, the reservoir is assumed to be isothermal which is practically not true due to the fact that there are heat sources from friction in the wellbore, work done by the drill bit and as well as thermal recovery. Although, this temperature change is small, it can serve other

A Novel Synchronization Technique Based on Kalman Filter for TD-SCDMA

2010 International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Software Engineering, 2010
TD-SCDMA is the 3G mobile communication air interface specification released by International Telecommunication Union (ITU). As a TDD system, synchronization in TD-SCDMA is a key influence factor of Quality of Service (QoS). Considering that mobile communication systems work in the environment of serious interference, multipath propagation and Doppler ...

Determination of automobile paint thickness using non-contact THz-TDS technique

2015 40th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz waves (IRMMW-THz), 2015
We use pulsed THz-TDS as a non-contact method for the measurement of thickness in automobile paint on a non-metallic substrate. We use a least square algorithm in order to fit the reflected pulses of each layer. Extracting the delay of each from the theoretical function allows us to know the thickness of each layer present in the system.

An insight into tapioca and wheat starch gelatinization mechanisms using TD‐NMR and complementary techniques

Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry, 2022
Abstract To provide evidence for previously proposed assumptions concerning starch gelatinization sub‐mechanisms, a more detailed investigation was carried out using multiscale analysis of a starch type selected for its marked difference.

Temporal dominance of sensations (TDS) as a sensory profiling technique

2015
Abstract Temporal dominance of sensations (TDS) is a relatively recent method in the sensory field aiming at collecting the sequence of the dominant sensations perceived by the subject during the tasting of a product. For instance, while tasting a piece of chocolate from intake to swallowing, the subject can successively perceive the attributes crunchy,

Application of Smart Antenna Interference Suppression Techniques in TD-SCDMA Systems

2009 Sixth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery, 2009
The quality of mobile communications have been severely affected by interference among users in TD-SCDMA, in allusion to this problem, the smart antenna adaptive beam-forming algorithm are researched deeply in the thesis. According to the technical features that smart antenna can adaptive track the user signals realize the design and simulation of ...

Characterizing TDS Risk in Appalachian Landscapes: Techniques to Identify Mine Spoil TDS Generation Potentials

2021
Surface mining for coal in the Central Appalachians contributes total dissolved solids (TDS) to headwater streams, especially below larger mines and associated valley fills. The objective of this study was to characterize the geochemical properties of a range of surface soils and associated geologic strata from the Central Appalachian coalfields and to
