TDZ, auxin and genotype effects on leaf organogenesis in Fragaria
Plant Cell Reports, 2005The different types of organogenic (roots and adventitious shoots) and callus formation responses of leaves from 30-day-old proliferating shoots of different Fragaria spp. genotypes were studied in response to MS medium supplemented with 4.54 microM 1-phenyl-3-(1,2,3-thiadiazol-5-yl) urea (thidiazuron; TDZ) alone and in combination with 0.98 microM ...

Cytotoxic effect of TDZ on human cervical cancer cells
Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology B: Biology, 2017The present study investigates the anticancer activity of Thidiazuron (TDZ). Anticancer activity of TDZ was evaluated in cervical carcinoma cells (HeLa cells). Sulforhodamine-B (SRB) assay indicates that TDZ was about 100 times more toxic to the cancer cell than normal cells. TUNEL assay showed TDZ induced DNA damage in tumor cells.

Shoot Organogenesis of Aloe Plants with Emphasis on TDZ
2018Aloe species particularly Aloe vera (L.) is a potential crop in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries. As a result of increasing demand for aloe, large-scale plant production is needed for commercial cultivation. Hence, in vitro plant propagation is necessary for its commercial production due to male sterility and limited number of ...

Thidiazuron (TDZ): A Callus Minimizer for In Vitro Plant Production
2018Thidiazuron (TDZ) seems to be quite suitable growth regulator for rapid and effective plant production in vitro. In many woody and herbaceous plants, lower TDZ concentrations induce less callus production around the explant. However, there is still insufficient number of studies how actually TDZ is effective on plant production in vitro and which ...

TDZ-Induced Plant Regeneration in Jatropha curcas: A Promising Biofuel Plant
2018In recent years, Jatropha curcas has pronounced attention due to its capacity of production of biodiesel. Uniform large-scale propagation of J. curcas is one of the significant keys that will eventually decide victory. Direct regeneration is one of the methods which help in the production of uniform and homogenous plant, and TDZ plays an important role

TDZ-Induced Regeneration in Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni: An Important Natural Sweetener
2018A substituted phenylurea, thidiazuron (TDZ), plays a vital role as cytokinins in the regeneration of large number of plant species including stevia. There are several reports that are available on regeneration of stevia using TDZ. Apart from inducing regeneration with very high frequency, TDZ is also proved to be non-mutagenic.
