Bending Energy Schemes for Discrete‐Spring‐Network Structural Modelling of Red Blood Cells

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Biomedical Engineering, Volume 41, Issue 11, November 2025.
This research investigated three bending energy schemes for discrete‐spring‐network structural modelling termed bending energy scheme (BES) A, B and C. Flat and enclosed membrane test cases were presented, and predictions using the schemes were compared.

A Repression‐Activation System Involving miR164a‐NACs Regulates Tissue‐Specific Anthocyanin Accumulation in Peach Fruit

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 23, Issue 11, Page 5279-5296, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Anthocyanins are often responsible for fruit colour, determining their commercial value and providing nutritional benefits. In this study, differential anthocyanin accumulation in peel, outer flesh near the peel (OF) and inner flesh around the stone (IF) was observed in two peach fruit cultivars.

Advanced Modeling of Thermo‐Mechanical Behavior in Tetrachiral Core Sandwich Nanoplates Using Non‐Local Higher‐Order Theory

open access: yesNatural Sciences, Volume 5, Issue 4, October 2025.
The study presented investigates the thermo‐mechanical behavior of a sandwich structure with a tetrachiral‐shaped auxetic core. The geometric configuration, unit cell architecture, and the influence of the material length scale on the effective stiffness under temperature variation are illustrated.

Reliability and Validity of Nutrient Assessment Applications for Canadian Endurance Athletes: MyFitnessPal and Cronometer

open access: yesJournal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Volume 38, Issue 5, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction The purpose of the present observational study was to assess the inter‐rater reliability and validity of two free nutrition apps, MyFitnessPal (MFP) and Cronometer (CRO), among Canadian endurance athletes. Methods Two raters independently input 43 three‐day food intake records (FIR) (27M/16F) into MFP and CRO, and one rater input ...

Micropropagation of four blueberry cultivars

open access: yesAgronomía Costarricense, 2015
Sharpblue, Woodard, Bonita and Delite cultivars were propagated from leaf explants. Leaf sections from in vitro singlenode explants were compared with those from plants in the field. The explants were placed in WPM medium supplemented with 1.5 mg.l-1 TDZ
