Propagation of TE waves in cylindrical nonlinear dielectric waveguides
Physical Review E, 2005The propagation of TE-polarized electromagnetic waves along a Kerr-type nonlinear dielectric, nonabsorbing, nonmagnetic, and isotropic (circular) cylindrical waveguide is investigated. For axially (azimuthal) symmetric solutions the problem is reduced to a cubic-nonlinear integral equation that is solved by iteration leading to a sequence uniformly ...

Image reconstruction of a complex cylinder illuminated by TE waves
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1996The electromagnetic inverse scattering of a complex cylinder illuminated by transverse electric (TE) waves is investigated. The complex cylinder is a conductor coated by dielectric materials, A group of various unrelated TE waves is incident upon the object and the scattered fields are measured outside.

Nonlinear TE waves guided by graded-index planar waveguides
Optics Communications, 1987Abstract The dispersion relations for TE waves guided by general graded-index planar waveguides with a Kerr-like nonlinear cover have been solved numerically by using the staircase method. Numerical results for gaussian, exponential, and buried gaussian index profiles are presented and compared with those for the step index.

Numerical study of TE waves propagating in multibranch couplers
Fiber and Integrated Optics, 1992Abstract The evolution of TE-polarized waves propagating in the linear and nonlinear multibranch coupler is studied. The propagation of the waves in both directions is calculated by the beam-propagation method (BPM). The numerical results of simulation show that the minimum insertion loss of the nonlinear multibranch coupler is less than 0.088 dB ...

Nonlinear TE waves of coupled waveguides bounded by nonlinear media
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1988The dispersion relations for TE nonlinear guided waves of a coupled waveguide system bounded by nonlinear media are derived and evaluated numerically. The coupled waveguide system, which is a useful model for a planar nonlinear directional coupler, consists of two parallel dielectric films separated by a linear layer and bounded on both sides by media ...

TE waves in circular nonlinear optical antiwaveguide
IEE Proceedings - Optoelectronics, 1995Eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of TE/sub 01/ modes in a two-layer circular nonlinear optical waveguide are numerically investigated for various refractive index differences between the core and cladding and various values of the core radius. It is shown that for a negative difference between the refractive indices of the core and the cladding, there ...

Scattering of TE Waves by Cavity-Backed Slots
32nd European Microwave Conference, 2002, 2002A rigorous solution of the problem of a TE wave scattering by a finite number of slots in a PEC plane backed by resonant cavities is given. The scattering problem formulated in terms of system of singular integral equations has been solved by the method of analytical regularization.

Numerical modeling of nonlinear TE waves in multiple-quantum-well waveguides
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 1992A computer-aided technique, based on the finite element method, has been developed for analyzing intensity-dependent properties of TE waves guided by multiple-quantum-well (MQW) waveguides with arbitrary nonlinear media. Self-consistent solutions are obtained by a simple iterative procedure.

Novel nonlinear surface and guided TE waves in asymmetric LHM waveguides
Journal of Optics A: Pure and Applied Optics, 2009The first comprehensive exact theory of strongly nonlinear guided waves in a double-negative planar metamaterial waveguide is developed. The theoretical consequences are that novel surface and guided waves are predicted because of the special relationship of the boundary fields to each other.

Propagation of electromagnetic TE waves in a nonlinear medium with saturation
Journal of Communications Technology and Electronics, 2011Propagation of electromagnetic TE waves in a nonlinear dielectric layer with saturation is considered. The layer is located between two isotropic nonmagnetic semi-infinite media with constant electromagnetic parameters. A nonlinear boundary-value problem for the eigenvalues of a second-order ordinary differential equation is studied.
