Supporting Survivor‐Centered Care Through Digital Health Integration

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Survivors of childhood cancer face barriers to receiving guideline‐based, long‐term follow‐up care. Two digital tools, Passport for Care (PFC) and Cancer SurvivorLink (SurvivorLink), address complementary gaps by enabling tailored survivorship care plan (SCP) generation, updating, storage, and sharing.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Teams, Team Process, and Team Building

open access: yes, 2014
This chapter examines what is involved in creating effective teams first by differentiating between work units and teams, examining team processes, understanding how and when teams can contribute to a more effective organization, and discussing how to select and develop the best team members, develop effective team leadership, and motivate team ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Effects of 8-week complex and resistance training on strength and power in adolescent long jumpers

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study aimed to compare the effects of complex training (CT) and resistance training (RT) on lower-limb strength and power performance in adolescent long jumpers. It was hypothesized that complex training would result in more significant improvements

Time-restricted feeding prevents memory impairments induced by obesogenic diet consumption, via hippocampal thyroid hormone signaling

open access: yesMolecular Metabolism
Objective: The early consumption of calorie-rich diet disrupts circadian rhythms and has adverse effects on memory, yet the effects of time-restricted feeding (TRF) and the underlying molecular mechanisms are unknown.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Teams in Small Organizations: Conceptual, Methodological, and Practical Considerations

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2021
Research on teams and teamwork has flourished in the last few decades. Much of what we know about teams and teamwork comes from research using short-term student teams in the lab, teams in larger organizations, and, more recently, teams in rather unique ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.
