Recovery of five cool‐season turfgrasses following long‐term ice encasement

open access: yesCrop Science, Volume 65, Issue 2, March/April 2025.
Abstract Ice encasement is a major concern for turfgrass managers in cold climates; however, there is a lack of data about both which turfgrasses are best suited for survival under these conditions and the reasons behind the superior recovery of some grasses from long‐term ice encasement.

Review of the biology and management of large patch of warm‐season turfgrasses

open access: yesCrop Science, Volume 65, Issue 2, March/April 2025.
Abstract Large patch (Rhizoctonia solani Kühn: anastomosis group [AG] 2‐2) is a destructive disease in warm‐season turfgrasses worldwide, particularly zoysiagrass (Zoysia spp.). Developing as an orange or tan color, the disease starts as small, round patches that can eventually progress to several meters in diameter.

Assessing the Relationship Between Sedimentary Microbial Community Structure and Pollutants in Stormwater Wetlands Using eDNA Metabarcoding

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 7, Issue 2, March/April 2025.
Constructed wetlands are designed to retain contaminants from stormwater which would otherwise pose significant threats to freshwater ecosystems downstream. Here, we utilized the ability of environmental DNA metabarcoding to assess biological profiles quickly and reliably to characterize the sedimentary microbial profiles of nine urban stormwater ...

Tebuconazole Regulates Fatty Acid Composition of Etiolated Winter Wheat Seedlings [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Stress Physiology & Biochemistry, 2016
The fatty acid composition of shoots of unhardened and hardened to cold etiolated winter wheat seedlings grown from seeds treated with tebuconazole-based protectant «Bunker» (content of tebuconazole 60 grams per liter, g/L), and the seedlings frost ...

Resistance to triazole fungicides in Pyricularia species associated with invasive plants from wheat fields in Brazil

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Agronomy, 2019
Triazole fungicides have not been effective for managing the wheat blast disease in Brazil. A broad analysis across six geographical populations of Pyricularia graminis-tritici in central-southern Brazil indicated a high level of resistance to triazole ...

Comparing Ultraviolet and Photocatalytic Disinfection Techniques and Their Synergistic Effects on Pesticide Presence and Quality Parameters in Grapes

open access: yesFuture Postharvest and Food, Volume 2, Issue 1, Page 50-62, March 2025.
UV‐C combined with TiO₂ or ZnO significantly reduces pesticide residues in grapes to undetectable levels. pPhotocatalysts help preserve phenolic content, flavonoids, and ascorbic acid during UV‐C treatments. UV‐C and photocatalyst treatments effectively lower microbial counts, enhancing grape quality and safety.

Fungicides vs mycoinsecticides in the management of corn leafhopper: physicochemical, in vitro and in vivo compatibilities, and degradation kinetics in maize plants [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The present study investigates the compatibility of mycoinsecticides based on isolates IBCB66 and Simbi BB15 of Beauveria bassiana and Esalq-1296 of Cordyceps javanica, which are registered for the management of Dalbulus maidis in Brazil, with synthetic fungicides. Irrespective of the fungicide, a total inhibition in the number of colony-forming units (
