Technetium-99m Joint Images

Radiology, 1969
Scintillation imaging has been used as an aid in detecting and documenting patterns of abnormality for many organ systems of the body. The synovial membrane of the joints of the extremities may be studied by means of tracers of 131I- or 99mTc-tagged albumin (1, 2).

Technetium-99m: An historical perspective

The International Journal of Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1982
The importance of /sup 99/Tc in the development of diagnostic nuclear medicine, over the past 30 yrs. is discussed. Tc-99 is the ideal radiotracer and since the introduction and development of the BNL /sup 99/Mo//sup 99/Tc Radioisotope Generator in the 1950's, and the development of /sup 99/Tc labelled compounds for thyroid, brain and bone-marrow ...

Parathyroid scintigraphy: comparison of technetium-99m methoxyisobutylisonitrile and technetium-99m tetrofosmin studies

European Journal of Nuclear Medicine, 1996
We report the preliminary results of a prospective study demonstrating tetrofosmin uptake in surgically and histologically proven parathyroid adenomas. In ten patients with primary chronic hyperparathyroidism, parathyroid imaging was performed using (1) technetium-99m methoxyisobutylisonitrile (MIBI) and (2) 99mTc-1, 2-bis(bis(2-ethoxyethyl)phosphino ...

Comparison of imaging properties of technetium 99m Q12 and technetium 99m Q3 in humans

Journal of Nuclear Cardiology, 1995
This study was a direct comparison of the imaging characteristics of 99mTc-labeled Q12 (99mTc-Q12) and 99mTc-labeled Q3 (99mTc-Q3) in the same patients. In 10 patients with known angiographic coronary artery anatomy, 99mTc-Q12 and 99mTc-Q3 myocardial imaging were performed.

Technetium-99m MDP vs Technetium-99m Dicarboxypropane Diphosphonate

Clinical Nuclear Medicine, 1986
The performance of Tc-99m MDP vs Tc-99m dicarboxypropane diphosphonate (DPD) was evaluated in 20 patients with various skeletal bone diseases. Each patient was investigated twice, with an interval of three days between studies and using the same protocol, hence each case served as its own control.

Technetium‐99m Generator

Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society, 1968
AbstractA systematic study was made to prepare technetium‐99m generator for domestic uses in the fields of nuclear medicine and biological tracer work by using molybdenum‐99 produced by Tsing Hua Open‐pool Reactor (THOR). Alumina was used as generator bed and technetium‐99m was milked by physiologic saline solution.

Comparison of technetium-99m-MDP, technetium-99m-WBC and technetium-99m-HIG in musculoskeletal inflammation.

Journal of nuclear medicine : official publication, Society of Nuclear Medicine, 1998
This study compared three radionuclide techniques in distinguishing musculoskeletal infection from noninfectious inflammation.Thirty-five orthopedic patients with suspected musculoskeletal infection were examined using three radionuclide techniques in sequence: triphasic bone scintigraphy, 99mTc radioleukocytes (99mTc-WBC) scintigraphy and 99mTc human ...

Technetium 99m Sestamibi in Multiple Myeloma

Radiology, 2005
Editor: We read with great interest the excellent review on diagnostic imaging in multiple myeloma by Dr Angtuaco and colleagues in the April 2004 issue of Radiology (1). We would like to address just a few issues related to the use of technetium 99m (Tc) sestamibi.

Discordant Uptake of Technetium-99m DISIDA and Technetium-99m Sulfur Colloid in an Amebic Abscess

Clinical Nuclear Medicine, 1988
Hepatobiliary imaging in a patient with an amebic abscess showed an early cold defect that later showed rim enhancement. A Tc-99m SC scan did not show prominent flow (making hepatoma unlikely) and showed the previously noted defect to appear larger and without rim enhancement.

Comparison of technetium 99m-phytate and technetium 99m-sulphur colloid in primary bone tumours

European Journal of Nuclear Medicine, 1990
Eleven patients with proven primary bone tumour (five Ewing sarcomas, six osteosarcomas) and two cases of metastatic bone involvement (primary other than bone) were investigated with 99mTc-phytate and 99mTc-sulphur colloid to compare the behaviour of the two radiopharmaceuticals at the tumour site.
