HSP70 governs permeability and mechanotransduction in primary human endothelial cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
HSP70 chemical inhibition reduces endothelial cell proliferation and increases permeability, the latter supported by normal interendothelial junctional protein distribution. HSP70 also plays a role in shear stress response, a hemodynamic force naturally present in blood vessels and correlated with vessel protection.

Technetium-99m-MIBI-SPECT for prostate cancer diagnosis

open access: yesУкраїнський Журнал Нефрології та Діалізу, 2020
The gold standard method for prostate cancer diagnosis is a transrectal ultrasonography-guided prostate biopsy. The detection rate of prostate cancer using the biopsy is approximately 25-30%.

Complete improvement in a patient with multiple irreversible defects of the left ventricle on 99m technetium-sestamibi SPECT after percutaneous coronary intervention. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
99mTc-sestamibi has been investigated as a potential viability marker; initial studies have shown good concordance between 201Tl and 99mTc-sestamibi activities in both viable and nonviable myocardium.

The temperature and chronology of heavy-element synthesis in low-mass stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Roughly half of the heavy elements (atomic mass greater than that of iron) are believed to be synthesized in the late evolutionary stages of stars with masses between 0.8 and 8 solar masses. Deep inside the star, nuclei (mainly iron) capture neutrons and

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Frequency of Discordance between Facet Joint Activity on Technetium Tc99m Methylene Diphosphonate SPECT/CT and Selection for Percutaneous Treatment at a Large Multispecialty Institution

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Neuroradiology, 2014
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: The clinical impact of facet joint bone scan activity is not fully understood. The hypothesis of this study is that facet joints targeted for percutaneous treatment in clinical practice differ from those with reported activity on ...

[Tc(NO)(Cp)(PPh3)Cl] and [Tc(NO)(Cp)(PPh3)(NCCH3)](PF6), and Their Reactions with Pyridine and Chalcogen Donors

open access: yesMolecules
Reactions of the technetium(I) nitrosyl complex [Tc(NO)(Cp)(PPh3)Cl] with triphenylphosphine chalcogenides EPPh3 (E = O, S, Se), and Ag(PF6) in a CH2Cl2/MeOH mixture (v/v, 2/1) result in an exchange of the chlorido ligand and the formation of [Tc(NO)(Cp)(
