Silent renal damage in symptom-free siblings of children with vesicoureteral reflux: Assessment with technetium Tc 99m dimercaptosuccinic acid scintigraphy

Journal of Pediatrics, 1993
Sixteen symptom-free siblings of children with vesicoureteral reflux were found to have the condition and underwent renal scintigraphy with technetium 99m dimercaptosuccinic acid. Of these 16 children, 6 had scintigraphic evidence of renal damage. Screening for vesicoureteral reflux in siblings of children known to have the condition should therefore ...

Evaluation of the use of technetium Tc 99m diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid and technetium Tc 99m dimercaptosuccinic acid for scintigraphic imaging of the kidneys in green iguanas ( Iguana iguana )

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 2005
Abstract Objective—To evaluate the use of scintigraphy involving technetium Tc 99m diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (99mTc-DTPA) or technetium Tc 99m dimercaptosuccinic acid (99mTc-DMSA) for the determination of kidney morphology and function in green iguanas ( Iguana iguana ). Animals—10 healthy iguanas weighing > 1.6 kg.

Pentavalent technetium-99m-dimercaptosuccinic acid [Tc-99m (V) DMSA] brain SPECT: does it have a place in predicting survival in patients with glioblastoma multiforme?

Journal of Neuro-Oncology, 2014
Pentavalent technetium-99m dimercaptosuccinic acid (Tc-99m (V) DMSA) is reported as a useful tool for detection of residual or recurrent gliomas. We aimed to investigate the prognostic value of Tc-99m (V) DMSA brain SPECT in patients with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).

Pentavalent technetium-99m dimercaptosuccinic acid [99mTc-(V)DMSA] brain scintitomography—a plausible non-invasive depicter of glioblastoma proliferation and therapy response

Journal of Neuro-Oncology, 2007
The biological behavior and prognosis of gliomas depend largely on cellular proliferation, resistance to chemotherapy, and metastatic potential. Proliferative propensity has significant implications on patient management but its assessment requires tissue sampling; the non-invasive estimation of brain tumor proliferation represents therefore a major ...
