Interferometric Techniques in Structural Damage Identification [PDF]
This paper describes several interferometric techniques and their applications in structural damage identification. With that objective in mind, damaged aluminum beams with clamped-free and free-free boundary conditions are analyzed. Different damages cases are inflicted by creating small cuts perpendicular to the beams longitudinal axis, being the ...

A multiple height-transfer interferometric technique
We propose a multiple height-transfer interferometric technique based on concepts from both multiple wavelength interferometry and wavelength scanning interferometry. Conventional multiple wavelength interferometry requires accurate wavelength information for large step height measurement, while wavelength scanning interferometry is limited by mode-hop-

Optical interferometric technique for deformation analysis
We have developed a unique optical interferometric technique for deformation analysis and have applied it to tensile analyses of aluminum based samples. Using a recent theory of plastic deformation, this technique is capable of diagnosing whether the sample is close to a fracture and where the fracture will occur.

Advanced interferometric SAR techniques with TanDEM-X [PDF]
TanDEM-X is an innovative mission with a TerraSAR-X add-on satellite for high-resolution single-pass SAR interferometry. The TanDEM-X mission has the primary objective of generating a consistent, global DEM with an unprecedented accuracy according to the HRTI-3 specifications (2 m height accuracy, 12 m posting).

Advanced Interferometric Techniques for High-Resolution Bathymetry [PDF]
AbstractCurrent high-resolution sidescan and multibeam sonars produce very large data sets. However, conventional interferometry-based bathymetry algorithms underestimate the potential information of such soundings, generally because they use small baselines to avoid phase ambiguity.

An Introduction to Radio Interferometric Techniques [PDF]
At this symposium we are to hear a great deal about new techniques for the measurement of earth rotation and polar motion that have come into being in the last decade and I am privileged to give a short introduction to one of these new techniques, that of radio interferometry.

Optimized Spectral and Interferometric Techniques for the Certification of ETPA
The phenomenon of Entangled Two-Photon Absorption (ETPA) presents a persistent controversy in the literature, evidenced by a wide disparity in the reported values for the $σ_E$ cross-sections. Much of this discrepancy is attributed to the difficulty in discriminating ETPA from various background processes that can mimic its signal, such as linear ...

Logical operations by interferometric techniques
A set of basic switching elements for performing logical operations on optical signals is considered. The devices are based on interferometric techniques associated with changes in optical paths introduced by electro-optical cells. It is shown that the most general switching function can be implemented without making recourse to any intermediate ...

An interferometric technique for B/A measurement
An isentropic phase method is described for measuring in vitro the acoustic nonlinearity parameter B/A of several aqueous buffers, protein solutions, lipid oils, and emulsions. The technique relies upon the use of an acoustic interferometer to measure the small changes in sound speed that accompany a rapid hydrostatic pressure change of between one and
