Noninvasive NMR/MRS Metabolic Parameters to Evaluate Metabolic Syndrome in Rats

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2022
(1) Background: Ectopic fat deposition and its effects, metabolic syndrome, have been significantly correlated to lifestyle and caloric consumption. There is no specific noninvasive evaluation tool being used in order to establish clinical markers for ...

Protein binding of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid and 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoic acid to human serum albumin and their anti-proliferation on doxorubicin-sensitive and doxorubicin-resistant leukemia cells

open access: yesToxicology Reports, 2021
4-Hydroxybenzoic acids (4-HBA) and 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoic acid (Vanillic acid, VA) have exhibited several pharmacological activities. Generally, the biological activities of compounds are highly involved in the interaction between protein and ...

Cardiac Computed Tomography Radiomics: A Comprehensive Review on Radiomic Techniques

open access: yesJournal of thoracic imaging, 2018
Radiologic images are vast three-dimensional data sets in which each voxel of the underlying volume represents distinct physical measurements of a tissue-dependent characteristic.

Clinical significance of stratifying prostate cancer patients through specific circulating genes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We tested a specific panel of genes representative of luminal, neuroendocrine and stem‐like cells in the blood of prostate cancer patients, showing predictive value from diagnosis to late stages of disease. This approach allows monitoring of treatment responses and outcomes at specific time points in trajectories.

Effects of obesity on the lipid and metabolite profiles of young adults by serum 1H-NMR spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2019
Background Overweight (OW) is considered a risk for various metabolic diseases. However, its effects as a mechanism that alters the metabolite profiles remain unclear.

Peripheral blood leukocyte signatures as biomarkers in relapsed ovarian cancer patients receiving combined anti‐CD73/anti‐PD‐L1 immunotherapy in arm A of the NSGO‐OV‐UMB1/ENGOT‐OV30 trial

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using mass cytometry, we analyzed serial blood samples from patients with relapsed epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) treated with oleclumab–durvalumab combination immunotherapy in the NSGO‐OV‐UMB1/ENGOT‐OV30 trial. Our analysis identified potential predictive, monitoring, and response biomarkers detectable through liquid biopsy. These findings facilitate

Impact of Diabetes Mellitus and Ischaemic Heart Disease on the Blood Resistivity Index of Renal Arteries in Hypertensive Patients [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2020
Introduction: Hypertension (HTN) is considered as one of the most common health problems. Doppler sonography plays an effective role in haemodynamic assessment of renal arteries in patients with essential HTN.

A Radiological Clip Design Using Ultrasound Identification to Improve Localization [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Objective: We demonstrate the use of ultrasound to receive an acoustic signal transmitted from a radiological clip designed from a custom circuit. This signal encodes an identification number and is localized and identified wirelessly by the ultrasound imaging system.

Multiplex single‐cell profiling of putative cancer stem cell markers ALDH1, SOX9, SOX2, CD44, CD133 and CD15 in endometrial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cancer stem cells are associated with aggressive disease, but a deep characterization of such markers is lacking in endometrial cancer. This study uses imaging mass cytometry to explore putative cancer stem cell markers in endometrial tumors and corresponding organoid models.
