Time‐differentiating methods for life cycle assessment of the industry transition toward climate neutrality: A review

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Ecology, Volume 29, Issue 5, Page 1523-1550, October 2025.
Abstract The industry transition toward climate neutrality requires manifold adaptations of present production processes, which include novel technologies using renewable energy carriers. The established method of life cycle assessment (LCA), designed to evaluate static processes, reaches its limits when applied to changing systems. We have conducted a

Recyclability: Redefining the concept for the circular economy

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Ecology, Volume 29, Issue 5, Page 1505-1522, October 2025.
Abstract Recyclability is a vital concept for the circular economy (CE). Recycling is an inevitable processing path in the technosphere of the CE, making good recyclability of materials and products a fundamental design requirement. Recyclability concepts in laws and standards are based on a homogeneous, but highly oversimplified, mass‐based and ...

Environmental Hazard Identification Technique Developing of Territorial Administrations Strategy as Exemplified in Siberian Federal District [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This work, on the example of the Siberian Federal District of the Russian Federation, presents a method for determining mass airbursts of combustion gaseous eco-toxicants, as a technique for assessing the contributory environmental load on the atmosphere.

Inhaled insulin in pregnancy: A case series supporting feasibility and clinical potential for pregnant people with diabetes

open access: yesPregnancy, Volume 1, Issue 5, September 2025.
Abstract Background Dose conversions, dose titration, and efficacy of inhaled insulin (TI) compared to rapid‐acting insulin (RAA) have not been studied in pregnancy. This case series demonstrates the various management approaches of TI use in pregnant patients with preexisting diabetes. Minimal data are available on the use of TI in pregnancy.

Coupling dynamic carbon accounting and partial-equilibrium economic model for energy policy assessment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Energy production and consumption is the main driver for anthropogenic GHG emissions, and in the French context, the transportation sector is the principal emitter accounting for almost one third of these emissions.

Reimagining Systems Thinking as Cybersystemic Researching: An Invitation to a Cyber‐Systemic Co‐Inquiry

open access: yesSystems Research and Behavioral Science, Volume 42, Issue 5, Page 1391-1403, September/October 2025.
ABSTRACT This paper reimagines the future of systems research as an enacted cybersystemic praxis that moves beyond traditional notions of systems thinking. We argue that systems research is best understood as a reflexive, embodied and situated practice that integrates systemic sensibilities, systems literacy and capabilities in (cyber)systemic co ...

Dilthey and Darwin Combined? 19th Century Geisteswissenschaft for 21st Century Cultural Science

open access: yesCultural Science, 2018
This paper explores the relevance of Dilthey’s conceptualisation of the ‘Geisteswissenschaften’ (human sciences) for Cultural Science. In a nutshell, I argue that Cultural Science is Dilthey plus Darwin. In this effort, I define the Geisteswissenschaften

Global sensitivity analysis of correlated uncertainties in life cycle assessment

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Ecology, Volume 29, Issue 4, Page 1090-1104, August 2025.
Abstract Recent advances in research have made global sensitivity analysis of very large and highly linear life cycle assessment systems feasible. In this paper, we build on these developments to include sensitivity analysis of correlated parameters and nonlinear models.

The Microphysics of Deportation A Critical Reading of Return Flight Monitoring Reports [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In the paper, I argue there is a whole political logistics to deportation. This is made visible by bringing the concept of microphysics to bear on the topic.
