Variety and spatial heterogeneity of tectonic tremor worldwide [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research, 2012
Deep tectonic tremor occurs at various sites worldwide, and the source characteristics are heterogeneous, even at small scales. In this study, tremor sources were determined using data sets of seismic waveforms from various locations, some of which are not well recognized as being a site of tremor activity.

Does Deep Tectonic Tremor Occur in the Central‐Eastern Mediterranean Basin? [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 2021
Abstract Tectonic tremor has been observed at the roots of many fault systems around the Pacific rim, including convergent and transform plate boundaries. The extent to which deep tremor signals are prevalent along fault systems elsewhere, including the Mediterranean basin, has not yet been documented in detail.

Crustal anisotropy from tectonic tremor in Guerrero, Mexico

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2016
AbstractWe present new shear wave anisotropy measurements in the continental crust in northern Guerrero obtained from tectonic tremor. Measurements of crustal anisotropy had not been performed in this area due to the lack of seismicity. However, tectonic tremor activity is abundant and offers an opportunity to determine anisotropy parameters ...
