Hydrogen‐Enhanced Stress Corrosion Cracking of Wire Arc Additive Manufactured Inconel 625 Superalloy in NaCl Solution: Mechanism of Synergistic Degradation

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
Hydrogen‐enhanced SCC of WAAM Inconel 625 in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution. Hydrogen charging reduces passive film stability (lower corrosion potential) and promotes pitting at Laves phase/matrix interfaces. Stress corrosion cracks propagate along Laves‐rich regions, leading to quasi‐cleavage brittle fracture.

Effectiveness of the antioxidants BHA and BHT in selected vegetable oils during intermittent heating

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2002
The heating performance of olive oil was compared with that of corn oil, olive-residue oil and 50:50 mixture of olive oil and corn oil. The oils were heated intermittently for two hours per day at a temperature of 175 ± 5° C for five consecutive days ...

Polyamine pathway is associated with muscle anabolic effects by androgen receptor ligand

open access: yesJCSM Rapid Communications, 2021
Background Muscle wasting is a common condition concomitant with aging. Androgens significantly increase skeletal muscle mass, but the role of the androgen receptor (AR) in skeletal muscle is not well established.

Mass Spectrometry Insights Into Post‐Translational Modifications in Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are membrane‐enclosed structures secreted by virtually all living cells, serving as essential mediators of intercellular communication in both physiological and pathological processes. There is growing interest in their potential applications as biomarkers, therapeutic targets, and drug delivery systems, which ...

From mainland to islands: the evolution of resistance and tolerance to herbivory in long‐lived oaks

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Island biogeography theory predicts that island plants should exhibit reduced defences compared with their mainland relatives due to relaxed herbivory pressure. However, growing empirical evidence challenges this prediction, revealing substantial variation among systems, plant lineages and defence types.

The role of the Tei index in assessing for cardiotoxicity from anthracycline chemotherapy: a systematic review

open access: yesEcho Research and Practice, 2021
Background: Anthracycline agents are known to be effective in treating tumors and hematological malignancies. Although these agents improve survival, their use is associated with cardiotoxic effects, which most commonly manifests as left ventricular ...

A Modular Core–Shell Nanoparticle Platform for Dual‐Modal MRI–Luminescence With High Relaxivity

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A modular core–shell nanoparticle platform is presented that combines high‐relaxivity magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and long‐lived luminescence within a single, well‐defined architecture. Spatially controlled gadolinium(III) and terbium(III) complexes deliver reproducible dual‐modal agents with benchmark MRI performance.

Ultra‐Processed Food Consumption and Childhood Allergic Diseases: Increased Risk of Asthma Onset in the SENDO Project

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
The SENDO cohort study (2015–2024) prospectively analyzed the impact of ultra‐processed food (UPF) consumption on asthma and atopy in 1,546 Spanish children. Higher UPF intake (NOVA 4 classification) was significantly associated with an increased risk of asthma but not atopy, atopic dermatitis, neumoallergen sensitation, food allergy over five years ...
