Attack and Success of Native and Exotic Parasitoids on Eggs of Halyomorpha halys in Three Maryland Habitats. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Egg parasitoids of the exotic invasive brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys (Stål), were investigated using lab-reared fresh (live) and frozen (killed) lab-reared sentinel egg masses deployed for 72h on foliage in three habitats-woods, orchard ...

Seletividade de pesticidas utilizados em arroz sobre Telenomus podisi e Trichogramma pretiosum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Telenomus and Trichogramma species stand out as agents for the biological control in rice crops, and the main strategy for preserving them is the use of selective pesticides.

Effects of Essential Oils from Two Species of Piperaceae on Parasitized and Unparasitized Eggs of (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) by (Hymenoptera: Platygastridae)

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2019
Biological control of Oebalus insularis eggs is considered an important strategy in the control of this rice “stink bug”. Effects of essential oils (EOs) from Piper jacquemontianum Kunth and Piper marginatum Jacq.

Chlorantraniliprole: bioactivation in coffee seedlings and control of resistant Leucoptera coffeella populations

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Chlorantraniliprole enhanced growth and biomass in coffee seedlings infested by susceptible Leucoptera coffeella, while resistant populations limited its insecticidal performance. These findings emphasize both the bioactivator potential of chlorantraniliprole and the challenges of managing resistance in coffee leaf miner control.

Selectivity of Insecticides Against Telenomus podisi Ashmead (Hymenoptera: Platygastridae) on Corn

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Science, 2018
Use of synthetic insecticides remains main control strategy for percevejo-marrom (Euschistus heros) in corn. However, indiscriminate use of these products can have adverse effects on the environment and human health. Thus, incorporation of bio-agents like Telenomus podisi a preferred option in corn pest management.

Parasitisation activity of Spalangia cameroni and Muscidifurax zaraptor, pupal parasitoids of Musca domestica

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 173, Issue 1, Page 49-59, January 2025.
This study investigated the parasitism rate over time of Spalangia cameroni (Hymenoptera: Spalangiidae) and Muscidifurax zaraptor (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae), commonly used biocontrol agents of the house fly, Musca domestica (Diptera: Muscidae). The parasitisation rate of S. cameroni remained constant over time, whereas that of M.
