The IRE1‐XBP1s Axis Drives Inflammatory Osteolysis by Regulating a 5‐HT Dependent Endogenous Anti‐Autophagy Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A previously unrecognized IRE1‐XBP1s‐Slc6a4 signaling axis links endoplasmic reticulum stress to serotonin metabolism, autophagy, and inflammatory osteoclastogenesis. By promoting intracellular serotonin uptake and reducing endogenous 3‐methyladenine accumulation, this pathway accelerates inflammatory bone destruction and provides a promising ...

YAP1‐Driven Pathogenic Fibro‐Adipogenic Progenitors Secrete IL‐6 and FGF21 to Mediate Muscle‐Bone Crosstalk and Promote Bone Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fibro‐adipogenic progenitors (FAPs) in atrophic muscle undergo YAP1‐driven pathogenic activation, secreting IL‐6 and FGF21 as bone‐catabolic myokines that mediate muscle‐bone crosstalk and promote bone loss. Genetic or pharmacological targeting of this YAP1‐FAP‐myokine axis rescues skeletal deterioration, identifying FAP‐derived myokines as therapeutic

Strain‐Release Pentafluorosulfanylation of Carbonyl‐Containing Disubstituted Bicyclobutanes: A Fortuitous Path to SF5‐Containing Oxa[2.1.1]bicyclohexanes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A regio‐ and diastereoselective method for strain‐release pentafluorosulfanylation of carbonyl‐containing 1,3‐disubstituted [1.1.0]bicyclobutanes (BCBs) was developed that led to several fortuitous discoveries. For instance, the resultant SF5‐cyclobutanes (SF5‐CBs) exhibit close SF5⋯C═X contacts (X = C, N, O) and provide synthetic access to a new class

Ion‐Driven Regulation of Ca2+ Flow by Ti/Zn Composite Activates ERK/MAPK Signaling and Maintains Mitochondrial Homeostasis to Promote Macrophage‐Mediated Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printed interpenetrating Ti/Zn composite enables sustained Zn2+ release to regulate intracellular Ca2+ redistribution, preserve mitochondrial homeostasis, activate ERK/MAPK signaling, and promote M2 macrophage polarization, thereby enhancing osteoimmune‐mediated bone regeneration and peri‐implant osseointegration.

A pH‐Switchable Cerium Single‐Atom Enzyme for Peri‐Implantitis Therapy via JAK‐STAT Signaling Axis‐Mediated Macrophage Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A pH‐switchable cerium single‐atom enzyme is developed for stage‐specific peri‐implantitis therapy. Acidic conditions trigger antibacterial peroxidase‐like activity, whereas neutral conditions activate an antioxidant superoxide dismutase ‐ and catalase ‐like enzymatic relay. This microenvironment‐adaptive catalytic strategy suppresses the IL‐6/JAK‐STAT

Bioadhesive‐Integrated 3D‐Printed Multilayer Scaffolds Secure a Mechanically‐Stable Osteoimmune Niche for Enhanced Bone Augmentation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A 3D‑printed multilayer adhesive scaffold, firmly anchored to bone defects by simple finger pressing, suppresses micromotion and secures mechanical stability of the osteogenic niche. This stabilization likely contributes to the enhanced bone augmentation by fostering a pro‑regenerative mechano‐immune profile—characterized by M2‑like macrophage ...

Electronic Chip‐Mimetic Medical Implants for Controllable Sonothermal Treatments

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the thermal effect of working electronic chips, which consist of various heterostructures, an sonothermal‐responsive platform has been developed through constructing metal‐semiconductor interface on implants. Biofilm infection and deep vein thrombosis can be successfully treated by controllable ultrasound treatments.
